11/17 Ride
Sam, Phil and I are riding the desert this weekend. We'll be riding around Doyle's Place on Saturday for anyone who'd like to join us. I'd recommend a lighter bike, based on the terrain we'll be riding. We'll be running double track and jeep trail... with some gravel to get there and back. Weather will be questionable - cold with a chance of rain (30-40%). If you're interested, PM me so I can get you directions and times.

We changed our plans due to rain, and rode to Pine Flats for a dip in the hot springs.

Sorry I missed out on this one, looks like you had fun. I would like to know where the hot springs are. I have a buddy with a cabin in Placerville and I'm sure I'll spend a few weekends there in the future. You going riding tomorrow?

When you leave Placerville, go the 11 miles to Garden Valley. Turn right on Highway 21 and it's about 10 miles east on 21. Pine Flats Campground.

Sam, I used to run a plate to avoid getting hasseled when we would go to Utah. Idaho will sell you a plate for just about anything, it is up to you to determine if it is street legal. The bigger deal is liability insurance or the lack of it if you get stopped.

We were there, at the trail, last week. If fact, we were there twice, because I got us lost and we looped back to it.

Sorry the weather didn't turn out better and I didn't have a street-legal bike for the ride today. It looks like the weather was pretty good up there with no snow or rain.

Ryan, looks like you had a pretty good time! I bet there were some slimy spots climbing up Edna Creek
Really nice pictures, love the way the clouds are hanging low on the trees.

11/23 Ride
Phil and I are headed out for an all-day ride Friday. This will be the kind of ride where anyone who needed to get home earlier can peel off and head back home at any time - there will be several bail-out spots. The rough route (subject to change) is 8th to BRR to Bogus, to Harris Creek, to Hawley, off the jeep-trail to the west, and down into Jerusalem Valley. From there - it's exploration time. I've only been there once, and have been wanting to get back since then. After exploring that area, there's a good chance we'll boogie back on the highway to get home before sunset. Anyone one who's interested will need to have a good range on thier bike (100 miles), and be street legal if you want to take the highway home - otherwise, you could double back to 8th street (where I assume you'd be parked) if you were on something non-street legal. If it's soggy (from the rain), or route will change, to a route that I know will still be tolerable with lots of rain.
