My buddy says that he saw ''some guy'' taking pics of his bike parked on the road in front of his cabin in Placerville last weekend. I showed him your pics and sure enough, you were parked right in front of his place. Maybe I can talk him into letting me use it for a jumping off point for a night or two

Ya, I got some weird looks taking pics of Placerville, but I really like that place. Someday, I'd love to have a cabin up there...

Jury's still out, but, I've still not put new shoes on Gumby yet. I plan on new tires, lube bearings, change out brake pads front&rear (Green front Gold rear), probably pull swing arm and lube those bearing also and change engine oil and filter over the Holiday so it's not looking good beside I really want to watch the final WAC game between BSU and Hawaii

Just bought a really cool motorcycle lift today at Harbor freight for $60 on sale so I'm focused on the maintenance. I to the hard cores heading to the hills, take pictures K.

There's no way in hell I'd miss that game - I'll be back by 7pm (when it starts) for sure.

How early you wanna meet? My wife has said in no uncertain terms that she is hitting the christmas sales Friday morning and will be out the door by 6:00 a.m. She *may* be back by 10:00, and for some reason she doesn't want to take the kids with her !?

We'll be leaving a lot earlier than that - closer to sun~up, knowing Phil. But, if you wanted to, we could always meet you on the trail somewhere, if you know those backroads well.

Phil and I are headed out for an all-day ride Friday. This will be the kind of ride where anyone who needed to get home earlier can peel off and head back home at any time - there will be several bail-out spots.

The rough route (subject to change) is 8th to BRR to Bogus, to Harris Creek, to Hawley, off the jeep-trail to the west, and down into Jerusalem Valley. From there - it's exploration time. I've only been there once, and have been wanting to get back since then. After exploring that area, there's a good chance we'll boogie back on the highway to get home before sunset.

Anyone one who's interested will need to have a good range on thier bike (100 miles), and be street legal if you want to take the highway home - otherwise, you could double back to 8th street (where I assume you'd be parked) if you were on something non-street legal.

If it's soggy (from the rain), or route will change, to a route that I know will still be tolerable with lots of rain.
Update

It's going to be cold this weekend.

That's a high of 40, for those of you who are graphically challenged.

That means those 2.5 inches that fell on Bogus today aren't likely to melt off before Friday, so we'll have to change our route.

We'll kind of play it be ear for a day or two, and keep an eye on the snow line. I'd still like to get north, so perhaps we'll ride into Horseshoe Bend, and take Harris Creek Summit, and see if Hawley is do-able. If not, Placerville for a cup of warm Joe, and then into Jerusalam Valley for some exploration or Grimes Creek area.

(P.S. there's gas in Placerville)

As usual I'm not going to be able to make the ride this weekend . I'm going over the hill and through the woods for Turkey Day. It might be a good thing though. After doing the doo' on my KLR I've noticed a knocking noise at startup. And I'm paranoid that I screwed something up so I'm gonna be pullin' it apart again just so I can sleep at night.

If the weather continues like this though I might be pulling out the ol' motorized sled and seeing if I can't scare some trees this weekend.

I'm sure I'll be able to make a ride in December. I might have to look into studded snow tires for the KLR.

Same thing happened to Burtonridr when he did his - there was something he'd done wrong putting it back together - can't remember what it was. You might call/PM him and ask him. Or firefighterjoe, since he was assisting him at the time.

Sunday Ride

Since most of my Turkey-day weekend is consumed I was thinking about a Sunday ride out in the Hemingway location. I have my little KTM (Nemo) available, my KLR is off-line for awhile.

I am also not opposed to a short road ride on the Tiger Sunday.

All WEATHER dependent.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING! To all my bike riding hooligan buds!!! GO BSU

Sam,

I'd love to join you, but I think I've got Thanksgiving with my wife's family on Sunday. If that's not the case, I'll check with the boss and see if there's time you join you.
