Storm moved in.

Calling for an inch of snow tonight, and another inch Saturday evening in Jordan Valley.

Change of plan.

Phil and I are going to trailer into Bruneau area, (lower elevation, thus no call for snow) and ride the bikes into the hot springs. Anyone who'd like to go is invited. Same plan as before... leave after the Oregon permit thing... just a different destination.

Does trailer mean little bikes? Off highway stuff? My rear tire ate the license plate off my CRF. The KLR is torn apart right now. What's your plan more specifically?

Trailering the XR and DRZ into Bruneau area. Unloading the bikes. Loading camping gear on the bikes. Running gravel and two track to drop drop down into the canyon to set up camp before dark. Then sitting in the hot springs, enjoying beverage and good company.

I've only walked it (because we took my Element out there), but I don't think a big bike would have an issue getting in an out. FAR easier than a Louie Lake situation, for sure. A good 4X4 truck with clearance can get in from the was we're dropping in tomorrow. I wouldn't hesitate to drop in with a 950 from the way we're going in... but I don't think I'd every take a big bike in from the east side again. That was a real workout.

Since my R doesn't have wind protection, and I have a trailer, we're going to trailer most of the way there. The last 10 miles or so, we'll ride in because it's the ICT which is super rocky and slow going with anything that's got 4 wheels.

There are some old homesteads down in there along the river and the rim that are pretty cool. And.. of course, the hot springs are nice to soak in.

... it beats sitting at home. I've got cabin fever.

If it's cold, and I'm not in the mood to freeze my junk off, we'll likely unload around D5 on the Benchmark map, which is where Indian Hot Springs road dumps into the ICT (off Clover - Three Creek).

If it's nice, we may unload earlier and ride in, but I'd be more apt to unload in the locations described above, and if we get camp set up early in the afternoon/evening, ride around the area a bit and check the place out.

If you're looking for a place to meet us, than the dinner in Bruneau is the safest bet, because we'll be going right by it before we drop south on Hot Springs Rd. We'll be the only shmucks out there trailering an R and a Z.

12:55 AM and I'm 9 beers deep. Bike is most of the way ready, but camping gear isn't. Gonna bring the benchmark and have ya show me where we're going. Might take a bit longer to get it together!

Good to know! I was about to text RWC to ask if there was any word. Jason made too I presume. Amazing what you can do with a couple of hose clamps.

Let see the picture of the damage.

Glad the perch got put back together ~ I'd imagine you used the hose clamps? Those suckers work wonders.

Very eventful ride.

Glad everyone made it out without incident.

Looking forward to the next one.
