We can meet at the Chevron west of Marsing at the junction of HWY 95 and HWY 55. 36 miles of highway to the Jordan Craters turnoff and then 30 miles of dirt to camp at Birch Creek. So probably 1 hour 45 minutes to camp. Sunset is 8:45 so we should probably leave from the Chevron by 6:30 at the latest if that works for you. Or I can do earlier too if you want.

Mileage between fuel stops update.

Chevron west of Marsing to Rome on Saturday. 116 miles.
Rome to Fields. 110-140 miles depending on a possible side trip.
Fields to Rome. 130-160 miles depending on a possible side trip.

The kitchen at Fields closes at 4:30 PST and the store/gas pumps close at 6:00 PST. Bring something for dinner Saturday night in case we don't make it on time to eat there. Lunch at the Rome Cafe on Saturday and Lunch on the trail Sunday.

No chance of leaving early. Workin man here savin my vacation for bigger and better things this summer. Not saying this won't be great, but I'd like my vacation time to be a little warmer than it's been recently.

I was just getting used to cold stuff. Now it's gonna start warming up?!? Bring on the cold!!! I ain't skeerd.

Just wanna take my vacation time when it's a bit warmer. I'll ride in the snow! Oh wait, did that last weekend.

I read in here somewhere that someone asked about the roads around Sun Valley. Father in law works for road and bridge dept and said a lot of the county roads are posted as closed this year. Don't expect to have much opened before middle of May and Trail Creek will stay closed until the end of May. They even closed a bunch of decent gravel between Bellvue and Carey.

That's too bad, but not surprising. I'm sure they want to keep the tires off the mud this spring, to keep it from getting rutted-out amd trashed.

Father in law works for road and bridge dept and said a lot of the county roads are posted as closed this year. Don't expect to have much opened before middle of May and Trail Creek will stay closed until the end of May. They even closed a bunch of decent gravel between Bellvue and Carey.
