I'm going on another weekday ride, this time on Monday to Silver City. We'll be riding from the Silver City Road/Murphy Stage Road intersection and going the longer way on the trails to Silver City. This is not a dual sport tire-friendly ride and total distance is around 60 miles.

If you are one of the lucky ones and don't have to work on Monday please come along. The weather is forecasted as cool and dry.

Self sufficiency is good

This is why I carry spare tubes not just patches!

I had just left Pickle Butt heading west on Nash doing probably 60 when the rear went mushy. Eight pickups passed by me as I was fixing it, probably having just left the shooting range and not one of them stopped to see if I needed help. Good thing I didn't. I guess hunters (and/or cops) don't like riders!

Eh? n00b Alert!!

New guy Ron here. I just picked up an 09 klx250s for some trail riding around town (and further, after some mod's). I am looking forward to seeing/meeting/riding w/ other inmates from Boise and beyond.

Ya, I gave up on patches, after 2 failed attempts on the trail.

Others (Sam) have had better luck... but I've NEVER gotten one to last more than about 10 miles.

Changing tubes trail side sucks. Changing one on the side of the road sucks even more. Glad you had all your tools with you.

Yes I did. Bob and two guys from Washington (Larry & Don) went with me. Four full days of loops out of camp. The weather was perfect and the riding/scenery was great.

That was taken in the Independence Mountains in northern Nevada.

Great ride, Ed!

I called that truck into the Malheur County Sherrif. They were already aware of it. BLM is supposed to remove it. It belonged to murder suspect Theodore J. Kestner (click for article).

Now if that doesn't titillate for the ride report ...

Jason Abbott screwed with this post 10-31-2011 at 09:57 AM Reason: changed article link to one mentioning truck and cliff

Interesting about the truck. You miss the little mishap on our way home

Did you make it to Jordan craters?
