I already replied to your PM. Didn't you get it? Weird. No worries. I think we addressed the "you are more than welcome to come" issue in the main forum here anyway.

Who hasn't made the run South into Nevada yet for those challenge points down there? Looks like there are still quite a few points in the mountains that are snowed in. I'd like to make a run down that way this weekend. I've never been to Jarbidge. I am on night shift for the next four weeks, so a Friday night departure is out. I'd like to leave early Saturday morning. Then, depending on who'd like to go and what their availability is, we can be back Sunday night or Monday morning. If it's Monday return, I'd like to get the ones in Eastern Oregon and then a few around the Silver City area. I don't start work til 4 on Monday. It would be nice to get these checked off the list before the desert gets way too hot. Then, I wanna be able to spend the rest of the summer tooling around in the mountains. Anybody interested?

Obviously you are not a noob but I made a "trip report" to help with some of the sites you are talking about: http://www.motoidaho.org/node/957

Heath/Ed have a GPS waypoint setup for the NV sites. You may want to contact them for a copy of that.

Also, your report on our last weekend trip has Mike still with us at Sheep Rock Lookout. It was me who had the temperature readings.

Ooops. It was late when I typed that. Fixed.

I'm still very new to GPS and I need more time to figure it out. This ride will be mapped with GPS as back up for when I get lost.

Damn guys. I just got my xr600 street legal for my summer commuter up here in coeur d alone, but after reading all these ride reports, you have me wanting to bring my bike down to when I come back down this fall. Hmm. Maybe make the girl friend drive the car and I will ride the bike down? Haha

I know there is a "Adventure rally" called Adventure Summits in Kamiah later this year. Happy Trail is hosting/sponsoring it! http://www.advsummits.com/

LOL. I'm still finding "Mike"s all over the place (read the Helena section). Dude, if you want me gone, just say so.

I know I'm old but I'm not THAT old.

I had to stop and ask locals as I got close. On my third trip I had maps but didn't plan a route but thanks to my fellow riders we got the job done!

This will be my fourth trip and I think I'm the most prepared for this one as of yet! Unless a storm comes in and closes the roads (which I'll call the Forest Service again before leaving, of course) I'm go for a 1000+ mile loop that will hit 12 Challenge sites. This is a multi-day trip and my wife is going to follow and can carry gear for us if need be. I still don't have camp sites planned but I did try to ensure that a town with a gas station is nearby every 150 miles or so.

Here is my proposed path:

You can also download the Google Maps file.

So, any advice on what I'm missing in planning this trip? I want it to be as enjoyable as possible for all who come.

planning the same trip last weekend of July with an overnight at Henry's lake for my
dads bday... have fun, should be a great trip!...

you bet, if you haven't gotten it done by then, let's get together... I believe that Twin Peaks, and Sleeping Deer may not be accessible until then... I know that RWC tried getting into Sleeping Deer last year in late July or early August and was blocked by snow.... I hope it's open by the end of July this year...

pm me and I'll be happy to share the "soft" plan I'm working on for those sites July 27 thru 30th, to see if it works for you... I've got to fit in a day for my dad's bday party at Henry's Lake that Saturday...
