Not much smoke on RR Ridge on Saturday (amazing), but most areas I rode through were blanketed, esp Mackay. Anyone know what these cables were for? Ore tram maybe?

That is amazing. There was plenty of smoke north of Ketchum. Love RR Ridge. Don't know about the cables more than your guess.

Hey Jason! Thinking about that Zeno ride.. Still need to find those petroglyphs on Wildhorse table
I also found out there's an F-4 crash site that we rode very close to, I think where the road goes into the reservoir (dammed mud puddle)? Can't believe we missed it. I'm heading down there soon as the fall colors start turning.

Uploads are finished. I kept them to 90 seconds to fit within Flickr limits. Here are a couple more for flavor. Later ones show the beauty of the basin. They're all here: http://www.youtube.com/user/trailimage/videos.

I was a dummy and forgot the 14mm wrench to tighten the break-away mirrors but amazingly, no damage other than scrapes on the gaurd bits. We got stuck a minute in some water that went over the hubs, not captured in video, so checking the final drive boot for water is hopefully the only TLC the pig needs. Jessica, on the other hand …

I haven't even watched them yet but I KNOW this road. Now that I know it is possible I'm going to try again next year (after I get more "learned up").

You've seen my pic, right? I *almost* made it.

Your picture was my inspiration! I sent you an e-mail from here about it but maybe you registered a fake address. If you plan to run it, I recommend having a buddy along. It gets worse before it gets better from where I believe your shot was taken.

Would you be up for a second run? (hint, hint)

Even after my bike gets out of the shop I don't think I'll try again until next year. My ribs still twinge occasionally and that ride will take everything my out-of-shape fat body has in order to succeed.

I did a lot of swearing "I'll never do this again" but I suspect I might be just dumb enough by then to join you — sans boxes, sans smoke, sans heat.

I posted a picture earlier in the thread. But I will repost when I get home.

A line of Jeeps were ascending as we left the next morning. That looked like the way to go. None of them were sweating and swearing. :)

I think you have a point there. Didn't see them cursing and going slow enough to not spill their drinks too.
