Took the DRZ out to try out my new Trials tire on the rear. Made it about 3/4 of the way to Adelpe Summit before I got turned around by ice. They've got the lowest gate closed on 8th St too. Guess I need to be heading out into the desert instead of trying to go up in the mountains.

Ya, still pretty wet up high. I've though about getting out on trail 4 & 6 to see how far up I can get... from down in the valley it looks like one could be up there a ways...

...anyone interested?

If anyone is interested in coming along, let me know.
I'm going to go ahead and choose March 29-30.. I'll be busy the other weekend. Hope for nice weather.

Meet in Nyssa, OR at 9:00 a.m. Friday and head to Juntura for lunch via dirt. On to Crystal Crane Hot Springs via more dirt to camp and soak. Probably eat dinner at the cafe in Crane. Breakfast at the cafe Saturday and head back home over another dirt route. This is a dirt ride. I like dirt. I'm going to guess you need to have around 180 miles of fuel range. I'll figure out the mileage more accurately and edit this post later.

I'd be down, but its looking like I might have to hit the road for ND tomorrow. Just when the weather is getting decent here. Last time we did that ride you were on Nemo, and the only evidence I saw of your passing was 6" of torn up ground on the top of each whoop.

LOL ~ what was a quick bike! Sam, do you still have that little devil?

We'll, give me a jingle when you get back into town, and we'll talk Heath into joining us.

Naw! I sold it to help finance the DRZ. Nemo was a hoot, but that thing plumb worn me out. I do miss it from time to time. That was a awesome single track rider.

See you when you get back ND John.

Did I say dirt? I'm sure most people will be on 650 or smaller bikes.

Uh........... did you not see the pics of deep snow and mud? But this time I'll know better if we hit snow. Turn around now because it just gets deeper.

To put it another way.............If you can do this on your 990 (on purpose) bring it. If not, bring the DRZ.

I should have known better than to ask that. DRZ preferred option.

No! That can't be true... I mean you turning around. OK, I am officially on the fence. A trailrider ride ...am I up to the punishment.
