Always a bonus to find a flat spot to cuddle. Looks like a great ride.

Indomitable Boulder Basin

It was dark by the time I pulled off highway 75 north of Ketchum along the bouncy dirt road with my tiny car and trailer to find Dax and whoever else was so emboldened. "Keep going!" they yelled mirthfully when I stopped to ask a large group around a fire if they'd seen any motorcycles go by.

So it began. Somewhere in the middle we must give rare thanks to a UTV for use of their winch. Farther along I find myself an hour away from and 2000 feet above my motorcycle without water since I tend to hike like a puppy chasing squirrels, never actually planning to go anywhere.

The preppy looking boys in the Range Rover did actually make it up to the mill, for those who doubted.

I'll be working on the pictures, video and rest of the story from my seat to share soon.

Nice, looks like someone needs to clean the vaseline off their lens.

So does this mean that the big boys didn't make it to the top?

Big boy.. that is. Alas, no one else showed! It was just Jason and I. That said, I'll let Jason tell the story.

Don't hold your breath. I'm prepping for four days away this Thursday. I started cutting the video together last night and my wife got a little grouchy that I wasn't being helpful.

Long story short, Dax and I worked together on motivating that GSA but it just sat there like a stubborn mule. So I wished Dax the best and left him there sobbing. Or something like that. Feel free to tell it, Dax.

Long live the HP48.

That pretty much sums it up.

I don't know how the hell Jason got his GS up there last year. Maybe he put helium in his tires because my GSA would just dig in and refuse to move (even with the two of us pushing as hard as we can). The good news is that I/we made it further this year than last year! (Not by much but a little.)

Hopefully Jason didn't get a photo of me puking.

I have to admit if I see another grapefruit sized boulder field pretending to be a path it'll be too soon (at least while I own my GSA). I had already starting considering trading in my 1200GSA for a new F800 but now I'm seriously considering it now.

Magruder Corridor and Lolo Motorway

Looks like many of us were out on the trails/roads this past weekend... good stuff! Dax... that Boulder road is a beast!...

We did the Magruder Corridor and Lolo Motorway over a long weekend. I found that the Super Ten without knobbies is not necessarily a mountain goat!
The road up to Burnt Knob LO was just a bit too much for her/me...

but we did get within 60 yards of the LO before a rock threw me into the left bank and try as I might, with just a dual sport tire, I could not get the big beast going again... just dug a big hole...

The views were fantastic up here

Time to get turned around and head back down...

great ride over 4 days, I'll post a ride report here and on IAMC in the next few days...

can't wait to see the pix of the Boulder City Ride!!

Sorry I was not able to come and share in your fun/misery. Didn't get off work till late Friday night. Wish I could have joined in on the fun.

That is all kinds of wrong. Love it. I've had Burnt Knob on my list for a while.
