When I was a kid, I had a ride in a Seabee. We landed on a lake in Maine, and my job was to open the front door, and look out for floating logs and other obstacles. One of my most treasured memories.

Thanks for posting the pics!

Sorry about the hijack, but i'm stumped.

Flying into Louisville today......Very long, narrow body with four engines. It had passenger windows down the entire length, but was a DHL cargo plane.
I can't figure it out......am I missing something? WTF is it? Sort of looked like an old 707, does anyone still fly those? I am certain it had 4 engines & was not a 747....what else could it be?

FYI a few weeks ago they flew a 747 into the Tupelo MS airport. I was driving by and was stunned to see it on the tarmac. They had it hooked up to a rather small John Deere tractor. I took a few humorous photos. The runway was long enough to land it, but too short for a 747 takeoff. It was sent there to be scrapped. I noticed the engines were removed as of Saturday afternoon.

I'm looking for a version that retains the passenger windows.

But that's not really a skinny fuselage.

The fuselage is not skinny, but it is long.

Thanks guys, I'm leaning toward the DC8, but it had full windows. IIRC it was all yellow, even the wings.

The nose shape was certainly like the DC8 & not like the Airbus.

I guess I was suprised to see it still in service.

Thanks again.
