Someone correct me here but as I recall the Brits are building two aircraft carriers and have an order in for F-35's. They recently went back and forth as to whether to buy the B version or the C version and equip the carriers with catapults, but it's pretty much a done deal.

My concern of the Brits naval air capability stems from their retirement of their Harriers...

I believe we're back to ramps. One ship is going straight into mothballs once it's built and it's looking like we're in for a long wait for planes, if we ever get any.

On the plus side we've got typhoons stationed on the Falklands.

I was surprised to see that once again, Brazil has an aircraft carrier with A-4s aboard.

Retired the through deck cruisers so there was no use for the aircraft, temporarily leaving the Brits without any carrier assets. There must be some maintenance issues going on there.
