Actually, if it had wings and an engine I wanted it, but you know what I mean. There was an old 500 or 520 that sat for a long time at our local FBO, and I used to scheme and scheme to find a way to snag it. As usual, purchase price wasn't the issue...it was the "what's next" that was adding the dollars to the project.

I read that. I just remember hearing of his passing.

And yes escaping and stealing a plane is pretty wild.

I confirm function of the mixture control during runup by pulling it briefly until the motor just starts to die. Interesting. We just lean it till is starts to die a minute or so after start up and richen it till it runs and taxie there. If your lean enough you can't do the run up so no wories about not being full rich for take off. We taxi at 900 and can go as low as 500 on one mag when we have to go really slow. Your 185looks pretty classey too.
