Cool! Pilatus jet trainer. I think it has a full authority digital engine control throttle so that the engine characteristics closely mimic a jet plane for training.

I like the plane because it always reminded me of a P-51...gorgeous plane.

If I went fixed wing this would be it. It's only about $8,000,000. Bus fare if you ask me.

You got me. I have no idea what that thing is. But I kind of like it.

Edit: a Piaggio P-166, eh? Wonderfully obscure.

Stumped. Finally. It kinda looked like they were going to design a helicopter but then changed their minds halfway through.

If I remember correctly the S-3 and the A-10 had the same engines. OK, one more.

I saw it in Aviation Week, but there's a designation on the tail.

I'm not very skilled with a computer I'm afraid. Where's the magic marker icon? It was made in S. Korea.

That large pod below the center line might carry some fuel, but its primary function is an external weapons bay.

It was designed as both, as the B-58 lacked the internal space for fuel tanks to support it's designed range. The combined tank/weapon would be dropped, then the plane would escape at a significantly higher speed.

The nose gear did a very funky slide and bend to clear the front of the pod.

BTW, I think we're getting a little off topic. Jet Fighters, not bonbers, trainers, prop trainers, water bombers, etc..........

Fighters.... like this one

Not terribly difficult.....

I took this in Moscow this past summer - if you can read Russian you have half the answer, still it is pretty obscure:

Here's one. You actually sometimes see them for sale in Trade-a-Plane.
