for the weekend, Rat-Tech solutions

just for the weekend, until TT opens on monday, i´ve found the rear brake reservoir protector from my former Lc8, on alluminium from Touratech, i have presented it, fold it a bit, and maybe it will do the job tied with a a pair of metal straps.

How's the sound of the LeoVince compared to the stock can?

Stock: soft wet fart
LeoVince with legal insert: fruity clear bark, but still legallish.

I am actually thinking of wrapping my header with header wrap or heat-shield tape! Like this product here... http://www.heatshieldproducts.com/co...haust_wrap.php

Has anyone else thought of doing this? It would also help get the heat through the exhaust which I believe gives better power!

is there that much heat coming off the header? I certainly felt the heat when slow riding on trails on my KLR and it wasn't pleasant.

Yes there is some heat from the header area, but it has gotten less since I removed the stock can. I have the feeling most of the heat now is coming from the dry sump oil tank, and not from the exhaust anymore.

Does the LeoVince need repacking?

Thanks!

My buddy just put one on the other week. No repacking needed. Very well built pipe. Waiting to hear it in person so I can judege the noise levels but it looks gooooooooooddddddddd!!!!!!!!

Don't forget that a good portion of the heat in the stock pipe comes from the catalytic convertor in the pipe.

ya, I found out the hard way... my skin is still peeling from a 2nd degree burn

let us know what you think of the sound levels.. I really don't want something louder than stock, or much louder than stock..

Just ordered a Leo Vince....hopefully i'll see it next week! Stock exhaust looks ugly to me and if it hinders performance/sensations as well then might as well replace it (this is how I justify it).

The manual doesn't say so, and as it is a reflection type of muffler I can hardly imagine. After 1000 miles it's still as loud/quiet as it was when I bought it.

i put both aside before installing, and the leovince is maybe 2/3 of the stock one in terms of size. Once mounted, you will realize also de difference in volume.
