They didn't cut my outer casing but went in through the exit pipe at the rear by cutting out the restrictor and then somehow removing more bits inside and modifying parts and welding them in. Looked a bit like making one of those ships in a bottle but works well, still has the cat in it.

Sorry for the cross-post, but trying to get most eyeballs!

Does anyone own BOTH an Xch and a F800GS? I just noticed that the 8 has a low front fender (60$ on Max's fiche), and that they both share a LOT of common parts (wilbers springs, almost close part numbers, etc...)...

Weird thought: Could the 8's low front fender fit easily on the Xch?

I checked into this the last time I was riding with a guy on an 800. Didn't look like it would work due to the lower connection points. Still, if you just rivet it to the existing fork protectors, it should work just as well as the KTM 950 one does.

Actually I bought F800GS low fender to try to install it to XChallenge.
It doesnt fit straight in - mounting points are different - you must weld it, or use rivets, to attach low fender to oryginal fork protectors

Thanks Guys - Lucas, how's the fairing coming along? Do you have any pictures of the mounting system? Does it come with a dashboard to install behind it?

Fairing from lituania comes just itself. I tryied to make some holding brakets and dashboard on my own. Results posted here (not finished yet - low fender not mounted, front suspension mods not started, waiting for acerbis rear fender 6l tank)

I will test it during next weekend - if snow will melt down... or even if it will not

Yesterday I could test in the pouring rain the effectiveness of the Scheffelmeier high KTM front fender; no more spraying on the rider, at the underside the engine is also much better protected (the fender is cut in 2 pieces).
Though a low fender looks more beautiful, this one is very good on road and going offroad I don't have to change from low to high = more time in the saddle!!!
Stephan is busy with the latest changes to the OEM muffler, ride-report soon!

Can any of you guys recommend some compact, yet really bright turn signals/indicator lights? LED would be great. I have some OEM indicators on the back of my G650 on my custom tidy tail, and they hit the muffler, and H&B bracket (HB bracket and muffler installed after I built the tidy tail). I can make a new tidy tail, but I would rather just install some smaller indicator lights. I also need a new set for my R1200S, as the cheap ebay ones have discolored and look like crap.

Thanks all

does anyone have any experience with the HDB integrated mirrors? im curious as to how well they work, how much you can see in them. im thinking either these or the touratech folding ones for my x-co.
either way i will probably get the HDB handguards, just not sure if i want the mirrors or not.

I've had mine for ~2 years...love them...you won't be able to fix your eye liner at 80mph , but you'll be able to see who/what is behind you...
