The petcocks are on the inside, out of harm's way. And besides, they have to be somewhere, don't they? And below the radiator you see the TT radiator brace, which will work as a lateral support for the tank as well.
It don't see anything awfull. |

I had the big ass IMS tank on my KLR. I never mounted the front bracing which allowed the tank to flex somewhat on contact. If I had the front of the tank braced against the radiator frame, it would have damaged it. Several off road biffs later, no damage at all.
Looking forward to SteveRed's pictorial of the tank off and on the bike and how it will be plumbed to the main tank. Take lots of pics!!

I will give them a call and see if I can get a group buy price for the sliders and the tail tidy and see what kind of prices we can get. I know they're not cheap, so any discount would be welcome..

Does that big tank allow access to the air filter? Looks to me like you'd have to pull the tank to clean the filter.

You'd have to pull the tank to get to the air filter.. My guess it's not overly complicated, but it remains to be seen how the tank attaches to the bike and how the fuel is hooked up.
As for the exposed petcocks, leave it to Touratech to come up with an accessory cage for them.

Well i wish you hadnt posted these pics. I have been watching the XChallenge movement. I now have to buy one of these things and order another 2 page TT order totaling almost as much as the bike. The good news is BMW has 1.9% financing on the bike. ![]() Any word on TT bags? |

In the TT PDF upadate to their catalog they show Zega panniers and mounts will be available next year. Romona is shown testing them in Africa when TT boss Herbert and her new hubby was testing the pre-production F800GS there.

Astrid had a few gray hairs and a few more lines around her eyes.. Herbert must have traded her in for a younger and newer model.
From the TT DVD's that I've seen, Astrid is a better rider.. and I thought she's more attractive.
