lousy front fender....

All right....
Wise Farkle Folk, what's the deal with the front fender.
So far;
Went riding last fall....mud/sand in face below 60km/h, 100km/h ok but gettin kinda fast in the land of foggy/mud covered goggle/visor.
Was out last saturday (On. Canada...) in the 5degree misty rain....more crap in the face. To the point that I couldn't see through the visor on my lid.

Right.
So the deal...the fender mounts two bolts in the front of the lower triple clamp and two in the bottom. Unlike most other replacement fender with four in the bottom.
Issue 2: the lower mounts on the headlight/number plate mount into the fender...so loosing the fender would mean re-mounting the headlight.

Touratech's fender extension looks dorky. but I could learn to be a dork with no mud in my eyes.

wisdom?
gifts?
glad tidings?

it's annoying (and illegal in Ontario) to stand up while riding all the time.
(don't ask...)

What up?

...
waiting for gearing...14T and the 13T....

I was reluctant to add the TT fender extender, but surprisingly, it works quite well at reducing the stuff flying off the front.

It looks pretty cool when you paint the front fender black!!

I find it works well and also protects the fender from scratching if you go down on a rocky trail..

HEY GB!!! Are you going with a Staintune exhaust?? Do you want me to follow up for you??

I emailed them and never heard back.. I'd like to get one, if it becomes available and isn't too loud. Yes, please.. if you can nudge them along, that would be great.

Here you go Gadget Boy.............

Also note................I installed the NEW TT Hardpart to the frame/sidestand lug to stop any likelihood of the sidestand lug catching a rock and breaking the cast frame..............funny how a TT part becomes available after a guy on here tells us his story of a frame breakage, a couple of months back

Staintune Australia have just finished production of the slip-ons for the XC and they are available for retail $640AUD. Let me know if I can help anyone.

Cheers
