Holiday Inbound, Logan

December 21-31 Wife and Dog talked me into the three day drive each way to see our new house in Logan. I am thinking of throwing the WR in the back of the Ridgeline and have it there for any riding that might come up. I will have to find something to do after three day's. SWINGSET: I know we will have to visit my wife sister in Granville/Newark (Off Country Club Dr.) I can only last about a hour at the most then I will be looking for a Bar or cold brew Let me know if you or anyone would like to meet up or ride during the time. Do any of you want some Arizona Dirt/Rocks?
PS: Went Riding Fri.

I was in Tucson in May, it would have been better if I hadn't been stuck with the in-laws. Some areas out there looked great for riding.

I am going to be hosting the neice and nephew that week so I'l be out unless they go stay with their grandparents for a day or two.

Father9, keep an eye on the weather, we'll work something out then post it, just shoot me a regular email

Drop me a line when you're in the area, we can meet at Brews in downtown Granville for a beer, I'm only 5 minutes north of town...I'd be up for some riding unless it's blowing sleet & ice...my Arizona blood balks at long freezing rides on a naked thumper....or naked rides on a long cold thumper....or cold thumping naked long things that ride.

Whatever.

Yesterday sure was a nice day for a ride.
Surpisingly I didn't see too many pirates out there.
All the chrome polishers must have their bikes put away for the year.
One of them was a real doozy though, long fringe on the handlebars braided with beads, floorboard fringe and a helmet with some sort of animal fur mohawk!
Looked like coon fur.

I did see a couple of Stroms and Beemers out though.

Yesterday was my first ride on the roads. Did about 30 miles out in Geauga county with my FIL. Just picked up a bike the day before. The ninja 250 was fun and easy to ride. Got a good deal on it and it should give me a chance to learn to ride for cheap.

Didn't get any pictures of the ride because I forgot. I guess that is one more thing I have to learn

Did see quite a few bikes of all types.

Nice bike.

Sign up for the BRC and buy protective gear if you haven't already.

You're always welcome to maybe possibly join us.

And yes you're right I grew up in Arizona, born in Ohio tho. Funny you mention it, my mom in her moving found some of my old class pictures and I'm trying to scan & restore some that are damaged for an old friend on facebook. Found my 1978 elementary class picture from Arizona.

I'm 2nd row, 3rd from left in the mack-daddy yellow & green shirt. The little girl behind me was named Michelle, she was sweet on me (the shirt, obviously). Her family owned a company that produced BMX and skateboard components (trucks, bearings, frames, etc.). She was a nationally ranked BMX rider, her dad competed in the Baja 1000 back then in buggies, IIRC. I didn't appreciate how cool it was then, but fuck would I love to go back and get inside her family's wheelhouse for all the neat things they were into.

Did the kid three to the right of you end up in prison? Maybe it's just me but I wouldn't turn my back on him. I think I saw him on Dateline to catch a predator.

That was Michael Tanner, he lived right down the street from us. His dad was a repo man, so I think he got the paranoid gaze from his old man.

It's a boring Monday after a holiday. Even though none of the ages match up with reality, let's start wild rumors about swingset. Sounds like fun, right?

What is not widely known, is that Swingset's teacher Ms. Bozarth's 1978 class had more than it's fare share of famous people. Aside from our friend swingset, widely known for his online wit, we should mention the following other notable members of this wily group of youngsters...

With his wild blond hair and sometimes subdued grin...

Famous basketball star Larry Bird.

Larry vowed never to speak to swingset again, after swingset's constant taunting about his basketball shorts being a little too "short".

With that squinted smile and prominent front teeth,

is none other than Happy Days character "Chachi", Scott Baio.

After a interesting evening out, Joanie ended up loving swingset, not Chachi. Baio would not speak to swingset for many years after, referring to the ensuing relationship between Joanie and swingset as having "required antibiotics".

It is also not widely known that one of the more interesting characters in swingset's class...

Was none other than comedian Carrot Top.

After torturing Carrot Top in class for many years over his fiery red hair, the psychological repercussions finally mounted and Carrot Top began a regimen of steroids and began training as a bodybuilder so that he could give swingset "a little payback".

This is when swingset bought his first gun, and several thereafter, as Carrot Top is now a steroid-fueled zombie of his former self, requiring a small army to kill. Swingset has been training for combat in his back yard ever since.

And the last of the famous, or in this case infamous, class members is none other than...

murderer Charles Manson,

Manson claimed to have "learned everything he knew" from a former "elementary school classmate", but that has never been confirmed.
