We've had a few Jeeps also. Used an old Jeep Scrambler to take a nurse to work at the county jail during a winter driving ban. all those roads and freeways with 6"+ of snow and I pretty much had them all to myself!!

Every vehicle I own is AWD or 4WD. Didn't plan it that way, just how it worked out.

Don't drive the Mazdaspeed6 much during snowy weather though... It's AWD is very capable, but if the inevitable happens through someone else's stupidity (or more likely my own), I'd rather crash the rust-bucket Isuzu Trooper than something with actual resale value.

I had an old truck like that, 280k miles, tried like hell to kill it. One night at dinner after seeing the new XR400's at the IX center I decided to keep the truck one more year and get a new XR and wait for a new truck.

Then 6 hours later on the way to a BMX national in Deleware, Ohio, a kid asleep at the wheel parked his Nissan Maxima under my feet in the middle of an interchange by going through my front suspension 1st.

No new bike

Honda's VTM-4 (Variable Torque Management) is a interesting concept. Leave it to Honda to take a different approach.

I thought about that lesbo thing, then rented one in Colorado. Drove through a 10" snow storm and knew I had to have one regardless of the stigma and connotations. One big burly lesbian.

I had a Volvo 240 wagon that was a snow loving beast. It had a LSD, and I found a set of dry rotted studed tires on craigslist. Passed quite a few stuck/ spinning 4x4's with that combo. Unfortunately the salty roads exposed all the spray foam and bondo in the rockers. Wish I would have pulled the rear end so I could put it in the daughters 240.

My 92 Chevy 2wd diesel with LSD is more confidence inspiring than the wife's 4x4 Tahoe.

Yeah, having a LSD in any car no matter the driveline/configuration is nice. Improves any vehicle's snow or performance prowess.

When mazda dug around in the parts bin for the AWD system on my car, they put in the LSD rear diff from the RX8.

I always heard having LSD in a vehicle make the scenery look like it's melting and 5mph feels like 1000.
