"I was out walking at the fairgrounds Sunday and saw that truck, I knew you were in town and assumed it was yours."

You'll easily recognize my truck, it has number 3 stickers all over it and in memory of the hillbilly martyr Dale Earnhardt sticker across the back window. That way I can be inconspicuous in places like this.

Great. I have done more in a week than I did at MU in a year. Busy as all get out, which I enjoy.

FYI, Meredith is having a hard time getting a response from anyone at Gen.

I like the uber-hilligans that apparently can't afford the actual "in memory of number 3" stickers, and use mailbox lettering.

paw paw total geek out.

http://www.ohiopawpawfest.com/index.html

Saturday looks like a great day to ride. I am going to head down to the paw paw fest in Albany OH Saturday AM. All street, mostly 71/33. Might do backroads on the way back.

I want to sit through the lectures & discussions about this curious fruit, as I am planning on putting a few of them in at my place.......like I said geek out.

Anyone want to tag along? I promise you'll be bored out of your mind.

Big plus:

If you have tools & know how to repair my bike if needed.
Are a police officer and can get us out of tickets.
Are wealthy and will buy my lunch/gas.
If you have nice breasts and questionable morals.

I have great breasts and pretty much no morals!!

Sadly, I cannot go the pawpaw fest I'm headed to an equally strange festival this weekend....the Mothman festival in Point Pleasant, WV where I hope to sight freakish and scary creatures (I'm speaking of course of native West Virginians). Sue me, my kiddo watches Monster Quest and has planned this adventure.

Man.....I would be all over the Mothman fest!

That is a cool & creepy dude.

Next year I am putting it on my calendar for sure.

There is something going on around here every weekend! Where I lived the last decade if it wasn't blues or BBQ there was no reason to go.

Awesome for everyone but the chubby dude in the suit. Way to pitch in, porkchop. "Well, I documented the effort with my eyeballs while holding my mouth agape."

Motorcyclist trapped under burning car says bystanders who lifted vehicle saved his life
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — A Utah motorcyclist who was pinned under a burning car after a collision expressed his gratitude Tuesday for the help of strangers who lifted the vehicle to rescue him.

“I’m just very thankful for everyone that helped me out,” Brandon Wright told The Associated Press by telephone from his hospital bed. “They saved my life.”

Authorities said Wright was riding his motorcycle Monday on U.S. 89 near the Utah State University campus in Logan when the 21-year-old collided with a black BMW that was pulling out of a parking lot.

Tire and skid marks on the highway indicate that Wright laid the bike down and slid along the road before colliding with the car, Assistant Police Chief Jeff Curtis said.

The bike hit the car’s hood and bounced to the ground, while Wright slid under the car and then both vehicles burst into flames, Curtis said. Wright was trapped beneath the burning car.
...
It looks like he wasn't wearing any gear when they pulled him out from under the car.

Hey, if your choice is laying it down and sliding under a flaming 5,000lb car or possibly locking the brakes up, I think we all know what the smart move is.

TTH Advanced ride canceled due to only one person signing up.

So to try and get a better group :
This Sunday I'll host a beginners Dual Sport Ride around McArthur and Tar Hollow State Park area. This will be open to all levels of rider and will be gravel roads, single track, dirt road and obviously a mud hole or two. Recommended bikes will have minimum of 50-50 tires, enough ground clearance to ride over a street curb (so a Tenere or V-strom is not advised) and not weigh more than you'd wanna pick up without help (help will be available).

Please post up if you intend to come. We'll meet up at 10:30 at the gas station in Laurelville at the intersection of rt180 and rt 56, east of Old Mans Cave.
