I'm thinking it has more to do with body size. Compared to us you could sit on the head of a needle. My current bike has one of those split seats to reduce impact on the vein. It's not real comfortable to sit on but it did help reduce numb nuts on rides over 10 miles.

Sure you didn't have the seat tipped up too high in the front? Fat saddles chafe me plus they make it near impossible to get over the back when impending doom confronts me. the thinner the padding the better also

Rode on one of those once, couldn't wait to get off of it.

Looks flat. All the gurus say make it flat back to front but every saddle is different

Yeah, it flat because if you lean it forward or back your rear slides right off. Off roading isn't such a big deal because your off the seat a lot more.

I'm considering it. I just finished putting the XR's engine back together tonight...just have to check the valve clearances and stuff it back in the frame and see if she'll run.

In other news, today I took advantage of the nice weather and went and bagged me another covered bridge. Some of you might remember this one:

Yep, its the Halloween CB on Ponetown Rd, just a mile or so south of US 50.

I got really lucky, as the owner was out mowing his grass when I rolled up, so I was able to ask permission to ride into his yard and take pictures.

Nice guy...turns out he and his father built the bridge.

the "floor" of the bridge is the remains of a flatbed semi-trailer, as seen here:

and the rest of it is built from an old, old log house that they took apart. You can see the rough, hand hewn lumber in these last two pictures:

For most people except Dox and Buildit, it's an XL or 21"

I went a couple years ago. Imagine 33 eastbound at about 5-530 pm any weekday between Hamilton and Gender. Tire to tire unless you're one of the first bikes. If you ARE one of the first, it's a race to Door Run Loop, the fight the bikes on the way back. Its great if you have a quad with a race pipe with no baffle though. You'll fit right in that way.

the back of the flier says you have the option of a 15 mile novice loop or a 35 mile main loop...did they do that when you went?
