Nothing very noticeable. There's an odd whine I don't remember from before, it goes with speed (not RPM), I just signed it off as the belt or something, and ignored it. No new rattles/clanks/or vibes. It ran perfect.

Heard from the dealership today. There was major bearing guts inside the primary, and unfortunately, all of the accessible bearings look fine. Which means it's time to
  1. Remove the motor
  2. Pull the heads/jugs
  3. Split the cases
  4. Remove the transmission
  5. Try to find exploding bearing within the transmission
  6. Order replacement bearings
  7. R&R bearings
  8. Look for other damage caused by metal shards in transmission
  9. Reinstall cases/jugs/heads
  10. Reinstall motor
With the extensive warranty work they performed last fall (about 1000 miles ago), I'm having one hell of a time keeping faith in the bike as my 'touring bike'. I went to Ohio Motorcycle this afternoon to talk to them about options. I want to trade my Uly in on their S10. But I need the S10, like, now. And they can't have the Uly till... well... till that whole freakin list above is completed. I knew it was a stretch, but I figured it was worth going and speaking to them. They will call me tomorrow.
(The better option would be to buy the S10 outright, and sell the Uly myself when I get it back, but I really don't want to take on that kind of monthly payment, and take the risk of having trouble selling the Uly later)

Mark, I didn't forget your offer, and I'm seriously considering it (That's freaking awesome man, thanks!) I'll PM you when I figure something out.
ya know, you really suck at posting a for sale ad, but how bad of a beating did they offer you on trade in? I'm considering a uly, and seeing how yours will have a just gone over, like new engine......

I did a table top on the KLR once.

The people having dinner there were not happy with me.

The 640 isn't too bad on jumps, it's just hard to move it around in the air when it out weighs you almost 2:1 compared to the 250's 1:1

The 950 is a whole other animal

I like doing jumps off water breaks better on the 950se than the KLR. Better suspension to pad my landing.

Hah!

I'll report back tomorrow after they call me with an 'offer'. Which may very well be a simple "aint gonna happen".

Thanks, I thought the same when I picked it out on the internet in AZ. Now that we have lived there for 2Y's I would rather drive thru it than live thru it. Without being disrespectful to the local tribes and there heritage I find many to be unmotivated and feel they will continue to be unmotivated because they have made a living in doing so. In some ways much like the area I find myself in now. YMMV. I learn long ago if you are not having fun, make changes. That is what I am in the process of now. I will let you know when it go's on the market. "Make it Adventure Ohio Clubhouse South"

Brian,

Have you given thought to coming north near my locale? It's certainly world's better in terms of the locals, the closer to Granville you are the higher the education/income and generally the more interesting the neighbors. The village itself is very expensive, but if you land just a little north out of Granville Schools the home & land prices fall off considerably, but you still retain close access to Granville, Johnstown, Newark/Heath, and only 30 minutes from the east side of Columbus. It's a nice area, not a lot of welfare rats or doofuses, mostly working people, farmers and folks like myself taking advantage of the commute while still retaining some rural living.

I have two friends who just located near me, one from NY and another from Marysville, and they both found nice homes and are happy with the area and community.

I lived in Springfield for a while when my mom worked at WPAFB, and that whole area depressed the hell out of me, it was like the panhandle of texas with trees. It's not the worst place (that would be Gary Indiana), but I wouldn't trade where I'm at now for western Ohio, even if I had double the wages and paid half as much for land/home.

A good friend is working on this, and the nearby title people were helpful, but they couldn't dig up the form.
