In that case beware baking soda and vinegar. Now get me some hydrofluoric acid and I'd be all set.

You learn that at Hare Scramble School.

Course 102a - Never wait - on anybody.

The first 3 weeks - do it all - anytime of day. Let the good times roll.

If you got warm weather coming, that's a plus. But that's just a temporary delay until firewood, short days and ice storms.
After you've trimmed every shrub on your (and your neighbor's) property, you can start aligning limestone in the driveway.
Make friends with the mailman and the meter readers. Remember the petty politics/BS about your past job - it's the easiest thing to forget.
And, of course, I'm a man - I can have sex anytime she wants to!

It goes something like this: wake up (early, it just happens). Pour a cup of coffee and then some. A little radio, Weather Channel and then some real decent looking babes on the cable news networks. (non-partisanship here). Back to the Weather channel in case anything changed. Get dressed, walk the dog. Go out and buy a paper. Root around the house for a little while and check ADV. Kick around, eat some cereal. Back to the news babes - check the clock - it's now 7:45 am.

Now WTF am I going to do till dark?

Be wary of friends, family and neighbors that will think you are now available full time for whatever they need - including your truck, trailer and your gas.

Trust me, the grass is always on the other side of the fence.

On the other hand, if you have the option - which many do not and may never - go for it.

Hey - let's get together sometime before it gets hot and throw some dirt down in Hocking County. I need someone to follow.

All this retirement talk. It's foreign to my ears.

Luckily my union squandered and embezzled all our pensions so that the few of us remaining have nearly no chance of recouping a dime of our retirement, so such concerns are largely fantasy talk - I plan on working until I am dead. It solves several problems, such as "what am I going to do?" or "how will my retirement money last?". Feh, I know my future.

Work, die.

Thanks to my hardworking brothers of the GCIU and Teamsters, who took theirs, gave the rest to organized crime, and the pennies that remained spent on leadership golf outings. Solidarity!!!

It's kind of relaxing, some people aren't as blessed with a per-ordained future.

Okay, I'll first to show I'm sorry for your situation.

Then I'll to show how I can't believe the unions would do that

Then I'll to show you should know that my surprise is total

Hare Scramble School? Where do I sign up? ;)

The problem was it wasn't supposed to be a race...just a dual sport ride. There weren't very many dual sports there though. 99% dirt bikes with tags.

Yeah, I'll be heading over to Indiana to see mom on Sunday so Saturday is good for me too. ;) So as soon as we get a guide we will be set.

If no one is willing to guide, maybe we could talk Bob Ramsay into loading up the 450 and coming down too. With all the rain we shouldn't have a problem finding some mud. What about it Bob, up for it?

Went to my first dual sport ride last year on the 690 and thought the same thing. Then I learned that they are just untimed enduros and found out that the 690 was not the best choice for single track. Also, don't feel bad about being passed by the orange bikes. I was getting passed by bikes of all colors!

The bottom end of the ride- there are dozens of county roads that itch for exploration. I was running my KZ1100 Vetter on this trip, but spotted several gravel roads. Pretty much south of 30 I saw potential for fun everywhere. I did see a couple of KLR's dressed for touring. Last Sunday? Blue/white hard cases older looking driver? Might be someone here.

This was close to KILLBUCK marsh, again, lots of these secondary roads I'm going to be revisiting on my KLR650

Some abandoned...business? Dunno

Meef sez:

"As you know, they are discussing laying me off."

The Urichsvillians in the city guvment have done this before......threaten layoffs, drastic cuts, etc. They will get something; tax increase, bail out from the state, wage/benefit cuts, or some combination of all of the choices, then things will be wonderful until the next crisis strikes.

But regardless, working with the Sword of Domocles above your head every day sucks. BTDT several times. Hope it works out for you.

And like some others have said, I would be bored to death in a matter of days if I wasn't working. Ok, maybe a week or so....figure I will be one of those people who have to give a 2 week notice before I die so they can find a replacement.
