Dang, the WRR's swingarm design must invite friction from the chain. Fat design or something? Everyone's burning through their guards.

They told me they didn't have them in stock, which meant ~2 days shipping from Yamaha to them (after they place their Yamaha order Tuesday), and then another ~2 days to ship from them to me.

Arg.

You coming to the night ride?

Yeah, the swingarm guard and fork seals seem to be the weak spots.

Looks like a Texan has a spare he's mailing me Tuesday, I should have it in my hands Thursday.

Thanks Alan and Indy for the offers.

And sorry for these annoying whiny posts. I'll have a spare the following week to avoid this problem again.

Edit! He got it shipped TODAY! I'll have it in my possession Wednesday! Saawweeeeeet

Memo to self, buy stock in the company who makes WRR fork seals and chain sliders.

It's easier to just let them rust into place.

Good ride today on the strom with Lisa and the S10. We were going to head down 33 towards Logan but it was a parking lot at 270. Hope no one got stuck in that traffic on a bike.

I made it to Sparta! 500 mile day. Butt is a little sore... I found out that 16 in Virginia is a great road... ;)

Going to do a couple of loops around the area tomorrow and Monday and then head home...

relocated the ecm on the uly today, then downloaded and figured out how to get the ecmspy software on my laptop and talking to the bike. Got it figured out, but now need to figure out what the heck I'm supposed to do with it.

I think I can finally take a shower. Two new super bright rear turn signals wired in on the strom. Cleaned up some dust and noticed the center stand spring was half unattached. So cleaned that up and restrung the springs. At this rate I'll be restoring the bikes this summer.

Monday Tar Hollow Ride for KLRs Only!

Okay, not for only KLRs. But as we have yet to set a time or place to meet I say parking lot below Pine Lake, 10:30. Leave by 11am. That should give me time to wake up load the bike and drive down.
