but obviously they didnt make much effort to lighten the load much...my 02 XR250R has a dry weight of 247, so curb weight is about 270 or so (and prolly another 10-12 with the case I have on the back)...and having spent an afternoon or two picking the damned thing up, after a while you start to notice EVERY SINGLE EXTRA POUND. I was interested in this new bike until I saw that weight...even though its a wet weight, its still too much...there's no reason for it to weigh that much, except that they just didnt put the effort into making it lighter. bah

FYI, Embedding videos (that don't auto-play) takes up no more bandwidth than posting pictures. I don't hear you FF's complaining about posting pictures...

Blame Obama. If I had a real job I wouldn't have the time to do it.

Why didn't you stay and video the drunks wobbling out of the lot on their noise makers?

Looks more like a girl with a beer than a beer girl.

Depending on seat height, I would consider the honda for my wife. We have been looking at xt 250's, but at a lower price and the fact that Hondas live like Methuselah, I would look at one pretty hard. The weight would be the killer.

Honda will sell the shit out of them at that price. There are many many people who buy small DS bikes who have no clue what they are buying, and have no intention of fording creeks or riding single track, but they will see that sticker next to the KLX and WRR and think "Well this one is cheaper". There are a few guys I have recently seen around mansfield on 30 day tagged KLX's wearing flip flops and the like while riding, do you really think they will care about 40 pounds of dry weight over $2000?

I'm just hoping that the CRF drives the prices of used WRR's down....

She looks like she's working on getting a bigger tip from him next time. As opposed to a few hours after this picture was taken when she got just the tip, just for a minute, just to see how it feels.....

The weight is a killer. My 230 is 276 lbs and I HATE IT FOR IT. Unless she wants primarily a road bike that just looks like it can do other stuff, because that's what my 230 is for me. Admittedly, it can do other stuff but being RFS and having to pick the heifer up more than twice SUCKS.

Michael, love the bike idea. When are we building it? oh, right, I need to finish the 150 DS conversion first.....

Took a look at the shot yesterday and it didn’t look as dramatic on video as in real life. It will still be featured along with my other falls. Only noticed 3 in the footage I took. Could have sworn I fell more than that.

I only saw one fall all day. Little kid playing in his yard saw the four cool KLRs ride past and fell over in shock.

I was early getting to work so I stopped by Motohio to pick up some fresh Hearos. When I pulled into the lot I thought they were getting ready for "GS 1200 Day". Four 1200s and 650 loaded down with Sinoloa Mexico tags (2297 miles according to Microsoft Streets and Trips.) Apparently they're headed to NYC. Sounds like fun... They vamoosed before I got a picture.
