I like riding in Mt.Vernon, it's a good way to brush up on your defensive skills.

I sorta had it in my head that your bike was green, but I was not certain. I see lots of bikes on 19, but they are usually the chrome variety.

I have a class this weekend. I did make it out yesterday for a few hours around Richland Furnace. I'd like to go to Hidden Spring next Tueday with the 426. Need to check with Kim if they'll be open but anyone wanna join me if they are? Supposed to be some nice cool weather.

Now that was a ride!

Met Alan after work yesterday, and we rode over to the northern tip of the TWVT (East Liverpool) and camped. We hit the road at 6:45 this morning, and rode what ended up being about half of the north-south TWVT route; just shy of 200 miles, ending at US-33 in Glenville.

We turned back northwest, and he stopped at the Ohio River to camp tonight, while I proceeded home. All in all, 14 and a half hours of riding today for me, and the loop totalled almost exactly 600 miles!

The TWVT was enjoyable, although at least 50% is paved; often narrow and rough, but pavement none the less. I'm not really complaining, as West Virginia pavement is generally a fricken blast in and of itself, but I would've been disappointed had I brought a little dual sport out here with true knobbies; this is a big bike route (as long as it's dry). The rest is a great mix of gravel and dirt. I'd say there were about half a dozen challenging spots, but I survived on a stock (worn out street tired) Tenere, so nothing too challenging. I definitely should have gone down though... My front tire washed out on numerous occasions (generally hitting a slick spot of wet clay) but I managed to hold it together and upright the entire time... somehow. I used the ABS and traction control to the full extent of their abilities, no question. Dual sport tires are probably common sense, and a skid plate would have been wise... but what the hell, I made it home successfully!

Alan got better pictures, but here are my few:

The end of our first challenging section:

Tons of pipelines going down

Bummer!

Good to go in half an hour!

Anyone in the portsmouth area? I'll be sitting at the buffalo wild wings on 23 for the next few hours waiting on a trailer if ya wanna come by and point and laugh.
I guess if I had to break down, this isn't the worst place.

Which bike, no wait, the buell?

Sorry, couldn't make it there in person. Hope it's nothing major like Mike had.

Yes, the buell. Electrical. 2.5 hours in to ride, lost all power and died. Came back on as I coasted to side of road, clocks/gauges reset, started back up and made it in to town.
While trying to find a decent place to stop, it would miss, gauges would reset and idiot light flash. Whole time my led voltage indicator kept going crazy. Got to a gas station, let it sit a bit, started up no issue, ride the mile to bww, no issue.decided to do some troubleshooting and see about riding home, now it's dead dead, doesn't do a thing.
