Whoohoo, electricty back! Was starting to get a little worried when I saw on the news that some were expected to be without power for 5-7 days. Feel sorry for those folks with temps in the 90s.

No juice in Granville, but we have gen power and lots of supplies. Good time to take off and ride.

I just got my internet back on after the storm. Power was only out for a few seconds thankfully. Good thing it cooled down after the storm for those people that didn't have power...

My power went out shortly after 5pm but was back on around 9pm. The whole neighborhood was aimlessly wondering around outside. It's like everyone was in shock; comfortable temperatures, sunny, but nothing to do. I'm hearing story after story from folks coming into my work after having driven through Powell/Dublin/Mount Sterling/etc; I guess we got off pretty easy on the west side.

That was a bit of wind that went through

Power went out about 6:15 last night, called this morning. Of Frontier Power's 12 substation, only 1 had power, the one I am on, but no power at the house. Line damage somewhere. Power came on at 11:00 so life is good......AC is running

no power at my place in Lancaster and the AEP recording says it could be several days...meanwhile less than 1/2 a mile away they have power...Im at the public library, their wifi with my laptop.

as for yesterday, I had a great time riding the Triple Nickle...I had forgotten the reports of the chip seal but fortunately Jimjim texted me with a warning. but it wasnt too bad...about 9 miles of it and except for 3 or 4 corners with excess chippage (one looked like they dumped a wheel barrow full) it was mostly a non-issue. I was able to maintain a steady 30-40 mph throughout...and the couple of corners with loose chips were ones that were so tight you had to be slowed way down anyway.

after completing the 555 (in 1 hour 33 mins at an average speed of 41 mph) I punched up a place to get a burger and beer on the Garmin...ended up in Parkersburg at The River City Grill and Tavern where I enjoyed a couple of Blue Moons and a big-ass western burger (bbq sauce, HOT pepperjack cheese and bacon...mmmmmmmmmmm) before heading for home. About that time I got another warning text from Jimjim about the storm. And shortly thereafter, on from the wife about our power being out. I jumped onto 50 and flogged Sabrina for all she was worth trying to get home before the storm, but it was not to be...I watched the dark clouds getting darker and closer as I closed in on Athens...I had hoped to get into the city and find someplace to take shelter, but about a mile and a half shy of the city limits the wind was so fierce I could barely hold a semi-straight line in 2nd gear, so I pulled off and holed up between a couple of buildings at a u-store-it place. 1/2 an hour later, I was pretty thoroughly drenched but the wind had let up and I took off for home...arriving about an hour and 30 mins later. Saw lots of trees/branches down along the way but fortunately 50 and 33 were mostly clear and I had no issues getting home.

about 180 miles on the day and 98% of them were quite fun.

glad to hear everyone is apparently ok.

I've done quite a bit of night riding but have extra lights on all four bikes and helmet lights too. I prefer the trail riding because it way more intense, IMO. Problem that I had was a limb busting out my helmet light and just about taking my head off. :( It's a lot harder to judge depth at night.

I have tons of extra lighting on the ST1300 because I always seem to get suck out at night somewhere while riding it...(scariest ride was on BRP at night with all the freeking deer out there.)

I've run the battery almost dead on the KLR while running extra lights and heated gear at the same time in the middle of winter at night. Good thing it's easy to bump start.

I even have extra lights on my Ninjette mainly to be more conspicuous.

Extra lighting seems to be one of my first farkles that I add to a bike. Usually right behind changing the seating. ;)

Still no power. Had to make my choice of lunch locations based on getting wifi.
had three call backs between last night and this morning, expect more as buildings get power back. One of the in laws had to work last night, and will be sleeping a few more hours. Didn't want me to fire up the chainsaw before 2 or so. I'm sure as hell not going over there in the middle of the afternoon and cutting it up for them.

I got a call from my dealer yesterday telling me they just got a 2013 KTM ECF-W in with my name on it... ;) I know if I go look at it I'll be bringing it home. Then I'd have two bikes in the garage that I never ride...a KLR650 and WR250R
