That didn't stop Meef from taking me up it back in January. We hit a couple icy patches but it was otherwise fine and fun to ride uphill.

I've been around, but spent a lot of time at Lake Buckeye the past few weeks for family in town. Now back to regularly scheduled programming - I plan to stop in at Euro Bike Night tonight to see if anyone else makes it or not. Once on a rainy evening a couple years ago I was the only bike there.

Later,
M

Supposed to have cleared up pretty nice by then. I've got the car today, but I'll be driving right by after work. Not sure if I'm going to stop or not.

For those of you who helped me with my attempts to find places to go off road with the Jeep, thanks again. Just a quick note to let you know how the day wound up. I explored the first of two places provided to me by another inmate here, and after I had to use the lockers to get out of the third hole I decided I didn't feel like walking back to civilization. Since I was alone I decided it would be best to exit back to pavement and check out area #2. On my way there I saw a little dog nearly get splattered by three different cars, so I pulled over to see if I could catch the critter and see who it belonged to. Long story short it belonged to no one, of course. I rescued it directly in front of the Vinton County animal shelter and spoke with the shelter yesterday. They said it is common for people to stuff dogs through the gate there on the weekends, and they have no record of anyone looking for the dog I described. No one has answered the craigslist ads. The dog weighs about 6 - 7 pounds soaking wet, is around a year old, was filthy and stinky, tick infested, but happy nonetheless. I took it home, bathed it, dug out the ticks, and the next day discovered it also has worms. So now he is in the process of being de-wormed, and I have a vet appointment for him this coming Saturday to check for heart worms, shots, etc. I also have to get his nuts chopped. Needless to say I never made it to 4 x 4 area #2.

I am ultimately looking for a GOOD home for this poor little guy, he's been through too much to deserve anything less. He appears to be part Dachshund, perhaps part Chihuahua, with a somewhat wiry brindle coat. I believe they are called Chiweenies, or something like that. Or perhaps he's just a mutt

So without further delay, behold my new 6 million dollar (at least it feels like it's costing that much) Advrescue:

He will be adoptable once he is clear of worms and checked out by the vet, but if you want him without his nuts chopped you should probably speak soon

That is a ridiculously adorable thing. Chop off his nuts, regardless. The world doesn't need any more dogs. I'll check with my Mom. She's a sucker for a little dog.

OMG! What a lovely dog.

Looks like you've got yourself a new doggie there Bueller, he's sweet, his personality jumps out of the pictures.

Poor old Carol would have said to him, (like she did of many of our best dogs including the current dog in residence Ellie Mae,) "Looks like you have hit the doggie lottery."

That means that no matter what horrors have come before; you now live in a house, sleep in a bed, and will never be cold, wet, hungry, or unloved again.

He's a cute little fella, if you squint.

Srsly, good luck finding him a home! I'm sure there's a better future ahead of him than what brought him to your Jeep. How ya been, btw?
