Probably, but not on this thread. The umbrella girls should make for a good video.

There's also an article about making ATV trails at Burr Oak in the dispatch today... Page B2.
I got hit on the side of my sun glasses yesterday by one and it found its way in behind me ear and stung me on the neck, The helmet came off real fast but I never did find the bee.

Must be the year for em. My dad got hit a few weeks ago on the glove at a light. 2 riders got hit Sunday by bees too. One under the vest and another in the neck.

Anyone been to Big Rock Off Road park in KY? Any good? Is it rocky? I'm sick of rocks after going to Colorado this summer. :(

I have a friend who lives in Maysville, rode it with him last year. Not anything to write home about, IMHO. $20 to ride, which I think is steep for what's there...lots of quad trails and a few mud bogs, climbs weren't hard. You can take 4x4's there, so expect to deal with Rzr's and jeeps. When I was there they outnumbered bikes 4:1.

Wasn't really rocky, as I remember.

Perry is more funnerer, and free.

Thanks for the response swingset. I forgot about Perry actually and I've never been there either. I think I'll check it out. Free does sound pretty good right now. ;)

Oh DANG! Leave it to me to hurt a nearly invincible final drive setup!

Eagle eyes will spot it in this shot from Saturday:

I just found it yesterday afternoon:

Stick punched a hole in a rubber dust cover. Since it's dry in there (just a U-joint) and it's vented anyway (there is a drain hole in the metal behind it), I'm just going to patch it with a CV-Joint repair kit and call it good. I can't justify attempting to pull the entire swingarm assembly just to replace it. The damn thing only costs $7 retail, but it'd be a several hour job to replace.

Perry is what would happen if Wayne was left unguarded and un-patrolled for three years. I've seen one ranger there in 50 or more trips down, and he was just camped at the lot checking stickers.

It's a spiderweb of official trails, outlaw trails, and areas that are just crazy landscapes from the mining that leaves a playground of riding...you can kind of just go anywhere, everywhere...although in the strictest sense, that's a no-no.

The good is that it's seldom crowded, and your risk of getting plowed by anyone is very low. Also, the trails range from easy and wide to "you gotta be fucking crazy" climbs and places where people have just gone at it on a bike or ATV.

The bad is it's almost always muddy in spots, and finding your way around is nearly impossible...it's very easy to get off the marked trails and be lost. But, if you just keep going you'll reach a boundary or loop around. GPS is your friend...or go with someone that knows it. The best parts of Perry are the little slices stuck off on their own that seldom get ridden...there's single track that's pretty fun, but it's hard to find. Terrain is all over the place, mud, hard pack, rocks, roots, sand, shale, and strip mine floor that looks like the moon.

I'm going to be hitting it a lot this fall, drop me a PM if you're wanting a riding partner.

I always hesitate when I come to a descent, because I know chances are good I'll be turning around and have to make it back up.

I love the moon landscapes!

It can bite you though! It looks like rock, but it can be slick when wet.

There is every variety of hill climbs too; great learning place for that.

Weekend riding plans? Anyone going to MotoGP over in Indy?
Thought about going up to Ontario and surprising Fred and the goonie, but have doggie issues with a 3 day away Instead, my buddy Pauley and I are going over to the Moto GP tomorrow and watch qualifying, then returning in the afternoon. Leaving OW at 6 AM/Zanesville at 6:30 if anyone wants to go with us. Bryguy is already there. Might stay long enough to buy a new helmet.

I've been posting here a couple of years, I come on here, post stupid questions and snarky comments, snore loudly at campsites, slow group rides to a crawl, post misleading directions on Farneys Tag, obstruct traffic on my bicycle, and what do I get? Inmates, some of whom I've never met, have contributed over $200 dollars to my Pelotonia ride in memory of Carol.

This place is all fucked up.

Just a drop in the bucket, you are quite a popular person with over $4300 raised last I looked!
