I can't justify attempting to pull the entire swingarm assembly just to replace it. The damn thing only costs $7 retail, but it'd be a several hour job to replace.
You still have the WR, right?

Why you be beating on the Tenere???????????

Crap, I knew I should have checked this forum yesterday. Was just thinking that I need to get out and do some riding and even fired up the 450 last evening and made a lap around the house.

That was on our adventure (big bike) ride over the weekend. Most of my abuse is direct toward the WR, but the Tenere takes it like a champ too, so it's quite fun to get dirty on the beast.

I'm a definitely maybe. Might have to shuttle my aunt to church in the morning, but I'm not 100% on that yet so I might be there.

Just looked at the new Honda CRF250L at the local dealer. It's all new, luckily it shares nothing with the 230.
http://powersports.honda.com/2013/crf250L.aspx
Looks to be a contender to the WR250R, its just a little less in all around. Couple less HP, 1" less suspension, 25-30lbs heavier. But is less new than the used WR250R market.

Looks tempting. Anyone ride one yet?

Overall:
The Honda is a "nice" bike. Kind of like a pinky up type of lets go ride Margo type of bike. It will get you there. It will be comfy. It will get there cheaply. The WR wants to be ridden more aggressively. If you are a smaller rider and most of what you ride will be street, gravel, fire roads and mild double track. The Honda is your go to bike. If you are tall, conversation is over. You have to get the WR. If you ride hard and are not sure of what you will encounter you have to get the WR. If you want to attack you have to get the WR.
I'm happy with my choice.

Which dealer? Didn't know they had made it this far East.
