I think I've seen it down here in the southlands, but I tend to stay out of the rubbing alcohol section of the state store.

Yeah, in my opinion, it's only good for making concoctions when one is too lazy to distil their own liquor. I know there are plenty of idiots who drink shots of the stuff, but when used properly, it's a $14 way to make a 40ish proof campfire elixir.

Used to get it in WV, suppose they still sell it across the river. We used to take a plastic tub, cut up a few watermelons and cantaloupe, dump in several gallons of Hawaiian Punch, then dump in several bottles of 190. We called it "Jungle Juice" or I've heard it as "Cairo Kool-Aid". I'm sure its still a hit on campuses all over the world.

IMHO the compression damping is way too stiff for me and you cannot adjust it. I suppose I could have sent it out and had it rebuilt with different valving but that would mean the bike was outta commission until I got the shock back. I redid the suspense on my FZ1 and it was the best money I EVER spent on bike mods. Since the shock is fully adjustable you can change the damping to suit what you are doing at that time. The Penske does not have a remote preload adjuster so setting that is more work. So I set it with the panniers on but unloaded so it should be close no matter what. Bottom line is the Penske has a better ride quality than OEM on road. I didn't try any gravel/dirt roads before swapping shocks but I cannot imagine that the stocker would even be close.

Yep that was us. Did you stop by? We had a few visitors who cruised the parking lot looking at the bikes. I spoke to one fellow in a car who asked if it was OK to walk around. This was the 15th year for the event, this year we had 145 folks registered.

The bicycle tied to the rear of a motorcycle scares the crap out of me. Lots of sharp pointy things on there and looks easy to get tangled up. Not planning to crash.....but I still wear gear, you get the point.

A real ADV gentlemen drinks out of a glass of distinction....enter the 1976 Yamaha TT500 etched crystal....OK, so it needs dusted.

I do have a mountain bike, a roadbike and beach cruiser. Collectively they have 10 miles on them tops. I'd be up for some simple rides in the future to get in better shape.....easy rides......rides on flat, smooth trails.....rides to ice creams shops.

Yeah, that will get you into better shape. Well, if the shape you're going for is round or oblong.

95% of my rides end with ice cream or pastry.

Fredericksburg trail is nice and easy. I'd ride down and meet you

Didn't stop. Drove by & took quick inventory. Saw a couple ADV bikes & a DR that was awfully clean. Looked like quite a few touring type bikes.

I stopped at the hotel for a bit to visit an old friend who was in town for the MSTA Mail Pouch Fly-By. Several adventure bikes, but probably two thirds in the lot were touring machines. Lots of interesting scoots in the lot.

The DRZ SM you saw was probably JustGO!, Solace was also there on a Tiger 800.

Speaking of JustGo!, I miss Denny's great photos in the tag game. Has anybody seen him around lately?

Spoke with him for a bit on Saturday evening at the MSTA gathering, he's around.

Anyone been to the Rockhouse trails of the Hatfield McCoy Trail system? What kind of tars should I have? I'm thinking about going this weekend...
