I've not ridden the Ninja so I can't compare. I do know the Ninja's are two cylinders and carburated versus a single cylinder and fuel injection on the CBR. The new Ninja's may be fuel injected idk.

I put about 150 miles on it this afternoon, I'm really liking it, pretty darn smooth.

Ninja is carbed parallel twin still. 6speed,356 pounds dry. Cv type carbs. 25.5 hp at the rear.

Cbr is a single 23.7 hp, 337 dry, 6speed,efi.

The ninja is quicker in a line. .8 0-60 faster, and .5 quarter. 87mph top for the Cbr, and 93 for the ninja. GPS speed. Hp above was dyno taken, not crank claimed.

All reviews point the nod to the Honda for being smoother in corners, enough that its notable, and more nods to maintenance ease from efi and its single cyl. Some other bs too about the cams needing to ne pulled on the ninja to swap shims where the Honda doesn't. The euro market has an efi ninja out,so we may see it soon.

But. All in all numbers are so close its up to the riders and rubber to make the difference. Also with those dual cv carbs its left itself wide open for a slide carb upgrade to enhance accel. Cv carbs just suck unless properly tuned or replaced. Almost every carb I've seen is EPA tuned from the factory. So expect a bigger gap with the ninja if you like to play. Efi.. sometimes its black magic tuning them.

Rode a couple of hundred miles today on a tag trip with my buddy Paulie on some of the best roads in the state including the amazing 536. We saw a shockingly small number of motorcycles, less than 10. We talked to a couple of BMW roadies in full gear in Hannibal, they were all sweated up like they had been running.

Nix the Jimbo rodeo. Rode by to see if they had a memorial to Jimbo and Robin ( girl who helped with field events that died of cancer this year), place almost deserted. Bucket truck with a sign honoring Jimbo ( I didn't realize he was a national and world champion hill-climber! )
Guy told me they chased out the campers because they were afraid of flooding, and a grand total of about seven bikes there at 12:30 p.m..

I might have been 1 of those roadies- didn't know how sweaty I was - got to work on that! We came from Baltimore MD via some twisties in W Va. Thanks for the tip on 536 that was awesome + no traffic.

Yep! That was you, or at least one of you. We worked our way back up 255 then wiggled our way over to Caldwell, I got in about 7PM. Did you come up 250?

It was nice to talk a little racing with you, I was once very engaged in CART and and at least closely followed F1, I've been to most of what used to be the CART schedule, never been to Texas, Ontario, or the road circuit up in Washington, been to Long Beach and LS and even Phoenix back in the day, and still buy my Indy 500 tickets.
