No worries, you chuck 'em out the window immediately. Gotta keep those shovel-ready highway workers on the dole. No litter? Nobody has a jerb.

Nov 3rd Halloween Mt Bike Ride

I know Kory has ridden it but not sure if anyone else here has but there will be a night ride (mountain bike) at the Wilds on November 3rd.

Details coming, time, starting spot etc.

I'm not sure what the format is this year but it's usually a really low key scavenger hunt or something like that with lots of beer at the end.

TIm? Craig? Mike?

We went around it because of this. I believe the go-around had some gravel/dirt, but that's what we were looking for, so we enjoyed it.

Anyway, your coming South on 16...

Make a hard left onto 39 East (Turnpike Rd) in Belva, WV.
Then make a right on 39/1 (Beech Glen Rd) about 2 miles up.

That road zig zags a bit, and changes names about a dozen times, but ends up in Lansing, WV, where you turn right on CR-82 (Fayette Station Rd) to go beneath the big bridge.

I actually read an article about how piss jugs were an issue for the crews who mow the medians and ditches.

Way of the road, Bubbles, way of the road...

Sounds fun, I'll put it on my calendar. I still don't have a decent light tho. Daytime riding has proven to be murderous to my health, so I haven't gotten around to equipping for night time stuff...but maybe if I can't see I can't crash? Sort of a Hitchhiker's Guide thing?

I'll just put a maglite between my teeth and follow someone with a better light.

Speaking of riding, anyone up for some dirt Sunday? Thinking about a backroad/trail ride, or Perry, or something.

I finally have a day free and a bike that's ready to go, ain't wasting it!

Just spoke with Tim about dragging out the mtb. Been only ridden twice in 15 months. I'll dig out my lights and see if the battery still holds a charge

Plan to, waiting to see if I can finish this 1st

If so, probably a road trip to the ANF for trail riding. If not, maybe MX or scramble

I do want to see the Puss Hill video.

I talked to Tim Shepard (Lancaster Sport Cycles) today - he said he witnessed some entertainment on that hill. I forgot about the tree roots at the very top - they could have been a game changer for me - but a good dose of luck intervened! Such a long hill to have it nixed at the top.

Elbow pads - never used them. I once had a Thor chest protector with the elbow pads attached - more PITA with the on and off than I wanted. The elbow pads really sound like a good idea but so does a neck brace and knee braces and. . .and. . .

For those of you who think it's cool to get buzzed on alcohol, my friend was just killed by a drunk driver leaving behind a husband and 2 grade schoolers.

5 friends and family dead in 2 weeks.

When does it fucking end?

Sorry to hear about your friend. Drunk drivers suck. I drink on occasion, but never behind the wheel.
