Where do you buy a day/weekend pass to ride the Wayne Forest?

Lancaster Sport Cycles and the Sunoco in Nelsonville used to sell them but that was 15 years ago.

$15 / day?

Good question Bob, I forgot about needing that. ;)

The AA designation will have some very tough sections - usually there is a ride-around, or by-pass at these points if too much for a beginner.

For several years the GNCC (grand national cross country series) ran there each October. I understand that track was about 10 miles long so I would deduct that they will turn you loose on some pretty ravaged terrain. Of couse, it is travel at your own pace and ability.

Sounds like a something for everyone.
Its all lies ,lies I tell ya. The only difference last year between the easy and hard loop was 5 miles. Mgorman got to watch me fall several times, pull my hamstring, overheat the bike, and had to rescue me out some back trails to get me to the parking lot. All that said I've been looking forward to the abuse this year, I'll be going one or two days ,look for the fat guy on a 426.

It all depends on you and your bike. If it's been dry, not too bad, if it's been raining, have decent tires and by that I mean show up with something with a fairly square edge on the knob, even if you have to cut them.

The demo loop is pretty decent, nothing too hard but usually twisty with a few logs, rooted sections and the like. Perfect loop for the noob to practice on yet still give you a feel for the bikes. You can NOT ride your own bike on the demo loop.

AA loop usually has lots of off-camber, hills with no run up or run out, ravines, water or anything else you can attempt to ride over or under. When wet, I've seen guys take hours to finish. One year OhioPt and I got went there the following weekend, were starting the loop as we pulled in, we got dressed and headed out, caught them resting on the hillside 1/3 of the way in. We weren't having it easy but when we got to the 3/4 mark there weren't any fresh tracks left, everyone that started that day quit.

Easy loop, easy when dry, interesting when wet.

The rest of the trails are 95% quad wide and can be ridden by the average Joe, just be careful not to get your ass run over by the designated loop riders crossing them. Being there are quads that frequent the park, there will be sippi holes, traverse with caution

Get that beast ready and let's ride. Hope to see you down there. Look for a Silver F150 with a tandem axle white enclosed trailer, more than likely there will be a 640A or 250XCF parked next to it. If anyone wants, I can bring a grill. I'll have tools and such. If enough people commit, maybe I can get Jeff to let me rope off an area Friday night. If I get ambitious tomorrow, I'll print out a large version of the Adv Ohio sticker for the side to make it obvious.

The little side trail I'm wanting to hit is nearly forgotten about, even on the weekends supposedly there's never anyone there so that's my goal.
DO NOT PARK THERE mid week. There is a good chance that your vehicle will get cleaned out while you are out riding. Park in Nelsonville, unload, and ride up to the trails...
Wayne is generally open until mid-December. I wouldn't go during deer gun season though..

Bingo. You can also get them at the Begleys campgrounds in New Straitsville, or even Iron Pony if you're there the day or days before...online you get nicked for a small fee, but for convenience it's probably worth it. The only thing I don't like about online is if you print it out, you need to stick it to your bike somehow. I put it in a paper bag and rubber-band it to my fender pack.

Thanks for the info. Yeah, good point on the parking lot I remember hearing the trailhead up there is a meth-picker's playground. Perry during the week is like that too.

I've parked in New Straitsville a bunch on the weekends and never had problems, but then I don't leave anything of value in the car except an empty gear bag and stacks of kiddie porn.

Just kidding, I hide the empty gear bag.

Do you have any idea of what's wrong with it besides the rattling noise? I'd be glad to give you a hand to help get it back on the road.

Sounds good. I saw husaberg and demo ride so that was enough for me. Unless i get shafted with well work,I'll be on the blue Dr,or riding husabergs on the demo, then subsequently crying myself to sleep in the corner if its half as good as it sounds on paper.

I'd like to join you but it will be late by the time I get over there. It takes almost 4 hours from my house.

If you are there Saturday night, I'll join you! )

I believe the re-opened Sunoco on 33 between Sugar Grove and Rockbridge sells them.

Husaberg abandoned the funky motor layout so basically you are buying a more KTM than previously with different graphics, plastic and settings.
