He dropped it a long time ago, you just feed it by being whiny.

So I haven't been on here in a long time. Finally got an iPhone last night and spent the day catching up.... Good to see not much has changed! Lol!
Miss you guys!
Hopefully tearing into the 150R this weekend and getting that thing finally converted for the Roll The Bones Rally next weekend.

An old bridge

Hey, Ohio;

Many years ago I saw a picture of a railroad bridge in south central Ohio, maybe near Spencer, which was unlike any other I have ever seen. It was made of large iron plates, which were overlapped almost like fish or reptile scales. The picture showed a large steam engine emerging from the near end and it looked small in relation to the size of the bridge plates.

I suppose the bridge has been torn down long since but I wonder whether it is still standing and any of you have seen it while not getting your motorcycles dirty?

Regards,
Fred

hey Fred...

google maps says Spencer, OH is way up north: http://goo.gl/maps/3x7CF

got any more clues? I'm into bridges (covered, primarily) but that one sounds cool, I'd be interested in checking it out, if it still exists.

Sounds like the Tunkhannock and Sharon Valley RR bridge over Bealls Creek near Horace. The style is known as Steelscale, and features the overlapping steel plates on the front and massive rivets on the back side of the visible structure, which is unusual even today.

It was, sadly, torn down in 1984; but it had fallen into disrepair and was no longer used after about 1975.

Here's a link to info I found online:

T & SV RR history, Steelscale bridge

Enjoy!
