In all honesty, I should be in full leathers on the busa. Problem is,leather is just way too hot for me. I have a Joe rocket Phoenix for a jacket. It's good for all but the hottest days when moving slow.

Gear in general is a touchy subject like oil and tires. Use what works for you or what you need.
For that reason I think the EVS ballistic jerseys are a good compromise. They seem more likely to still have all the components on you after a long skid than some pressure suits. Plus you can wear it with or without another jersey over it.

One other factor that goes into my equation is that the more you have on making you sweat, the more fatigued you get, the more fatigued the less alert you are, and your reaction time diminishes. So when it's really really hot (like today right?) I see a benefit other than comfort to going with something cooler.

As has been said though, it's all about your personal comfort level, risk acceptance, and what works for you.

Any Ohio guys have a spare standard charging handle for an AR15?

I have one with the tac latch and I'm gtting tired of it poking me in the chest. Every distributor I normally look at is backordered indefinetely on pretty much every AR part.

I'm starting to use it a lot more for work now, and I have a few extras I want to set it up properly; this is a shitty time to try and source parts though, it would seem.

Medina gun show is today. Not sure if I want to deal with the likely rabid crowd, but I'll look for one if I do.

It's only 115 miles, shithead. Mt. Vernon is the middle. We can still meet up, you just be willing to unass yo'self.

Re: your query, nothing specific going on, haven't had to deploy it yet, but I'm finally actually carrying it... setting up a rifle specific active shooter kit, etc. I was running with just a pistol specific kit.

I actually rode the Tenere to work with it yesterday, slung over my back, in uniform....

Don't pay more than $20 for one, if you find one, and I'll reimburse ya. Any brand, mil-spec, no tactical latches or shit, just your basic handle and latch. Thanks.
