If you dont like the weather here, wait 5 mins.
The old joke is that you might be from Ohio if you have ever used your furnace and A/C on the same day. There is some truth to that.

Planning to stay south-ish on either I-10 or I-20 until I have to turn North. Things are looking good right now, but who knows what I'll find.
So what do you like about the R1200GS that you didn't like about the 800?

Byron, you've got a place to crash north of Dallas if you need it.

If I had the money and garage space, the new-to-me bike would have wound up parked next to my 8GS. There wasn't anything about the baby-GS that I didn't like when used as a single-up do-all bike.

But therein lay the limitation .... my wife and I just weren't as comfortable as we wanted to be when two-up.

If I had kept 8GS then I would have likely bought an R1150RT for touring duty. But since I had to sell the 8GS to partially fund the next bike, I went for a 12GS to retain some adventuring capability. But ... this will be my 2nd 12GS. The first was destroyed on the Labrador Highway in 2008 ... had the 8GS since.

I look forward to riding the LabHighway on this 12GS with Larry on his and taking a couple of pisses on the spots where we destroyed our bikes.

I plan to get this one home first before I find a decent dirt road to throw it down on. Stone Quarry, anyone?

I have 4 of these flush mount ceiling speakers new in the box and 2 that have been used in good condition. These are free for pickup if anyone wants them. I got them free years ago and never put them in my garage ceiling. If no interest they will become one with the dumpster at work.
