The NC 700X is kinda like the CRF250L, Honda is going to grab a big part of that entry level market, mostly because you can buy two of them for what a Tenere costs. Also, if anyone else is looking for a 250L, they have a used one there with like 200 miles on it, I didn't ask the price, but that salesman I talked to was acting like they were in it good and looking to deal.

If I do end up with an adventure bike, I will most likely get a DL650, or if I get caught up on everything by next winter, built a mutant out of Ninja or something.

I actually worked on my WRR today. Put on a new chain, 13/47 combo, heated grips, and took a holesaw to the top of the airbox. The factory setup was definitely choking it down, I'm pretty sure my cat is cleaned out so more air helps a bunch. I really can't see any harm to the top of the airbox being open, it's as high as the factory intake, and being under the seat, substantial water making it in there during water crossings is not likely.

With the new gearing and opened up airbox it's a whole different bike. I can pull the front wheel in second really easy now and the throttle response is much improved.

Possibly, i guess the guy who owned it has bought a bunch of bikes there, bought the CRF and decided he wanted something bigger so he traded it in a new KLR650. I know it's there I looked at it today.

I need to put together a tool & parts bag before I find myself stranded in the woods. Besides what comes with the WRR, what do you guys take along on a daytrip?

Steve (BigOhio) has graciously offered me the use of his KLR650 so I expect to be there. If we can get his big bike back together tonight, its possible he'll be along as well.

Even if the shocks go on ok, I can almost guarantee the big bike won't be back on the road until well into the day on Saturday. Wayyyy too many panels, crash bars and covers, etc. to reattach.

Same reason I always ride with Alan.....I figure he has the same bike so he obviously has what's needed to fix mine.

Believe it or not, all that stuff packs pretty small. The compressor is small, the tools are in a roll and my tailbag really isn't that large.
