That was a mud issue. Plus a nearly bald rear headed down hill. The plan was to use a foot against the bank. Needless to say I never made it that far. Luckily, Ive never came close to wrecking one while on one tire. Hell I got more beat up in that mess than the bike did. One scratched mirror and bar end, forks needed loosened and tweaked, and bars needed loosened and moved back. The worst was the shifter lever, heated it up and it still cracked at the weld. No biggie. I was surprised nothing more was wrong.

From what Ive seen so far on it, its not a bike id like to put down either. Plastics go out quite a ways that are attached to the tank, stator cover hangs out as well, and the pass foot peg brackets are welded on the frame.. only a mere 3" or so of them sticking out in the open.

Welcome to the mad house, Danjal and I are in Louisville, and I just got a new Tiger XC, soon as I get it broke in and the first service I'll be ready to go.

That was some beautiful country down there. Late in the afternoon I rode into an innocent looking puddle that Mark and Benly were smart enough to ride around. It was so deep I thought I was gonna need a life preserver. Mark said when the front end went in the deep part that the water was almost up to the headlight. Fortunately it was not that deep for very far. My nickname for the rest of the day was "sub commander".

Thanks for leading us around Mark and Benly. I hope to have the skills, bike, and tires to conquer that big hill someday.

All in all, it was an awesome day.

It was great riding with everyone yesterday. Big thanks to bikeridermark for leading the ride and showing us some great trails. Heres a link to the waterhole that almost swallowed mpenner:

Welcome to the madness. Tell us a bit about your past riding and what you're running. We do everything from easy gravel to really messed up single track. A few of us are in the Ohio adv submarine club too.
