Dayum... good to see there were no injuries, Mike. I concur with the skidplate comment.. there's a gap in the sequence, but I'd say the skidplate was a larger factor than the pannier.

Were your pegs dragging?

Mike, add me to the growing list of well wishers! That had the potential for a really bad ending, glad to see you made it through!

glad you are ok - nice photos to remember it by

From the sparks and front wheel angle, it looks like the skid plate may have helped you tuck the front end just before the case lifted the rear, one second railing a nice turn - the next, a nasty surprise.

Yikes.....Good man, in photo number 11 it looks like you are still trying to ride that bitch....I commend you, most would have given up by then.

At least you went off on the low side, if you would have stayed on you would have gotten spit into the weeds.....HARD.

Glad you're OK.

If nothing else you have some epic photos to show your grandkids what a bad ass you were BITD.

Daym! Photos don't lie, you are one lucky guy. If you'd stayed with the bike .5 seconds longer it would have high sided you right off the cliff.

Mike,

Those are some incredible pics.

I'm sorry to hear about the crash... glad you are okay. I am off Thur / Fri this week, if you need me to come get you I will be happy to, I can drag the bike home if needed, too. It's only about 7 hours interstate.
