since it was such a beautiful day and I had the day off...I did what any rational moto-geek would do and spent all day riding

snagged a couple covered bridges:

Skull Fork

and a private bridge on Shipley Rd (not far from Skull Fork)

I cant remember who it was who tipped me off to the location of this one, but whoever you are, thanks...it sure is a beauty...too bad you cant get anywhere near it:

there was room to squeeze by the fence on the right, but the signs indicating that there are security cameras in place were reason enough not to bother.

I also snagged some good file photos for tag, but I'll save them for now.

filled up 3 times today...did somewhere in the neighborhood of 265 miles. good way to spend a day

I can get 280 miles easily on one tank on my ST13 But I'm old and pee a lot so riding with someone with a small tank is good. lol

I can get at least 125 miles on a tank before I have to switch to reserve, but I usually try to fill up at about 100, coz the petcock leaks when I turn it to reserve. I suppose I ought to fix that one of these days.

I'm looking for gas at about 100 on the WRR, light comes on at about 115. That's with the 3 gallon tank. On the old klr650, I didn't even consider gas until 200. I'm expecting the KTM to be close to empty in 75 miles I may look for a larger tank for it.

My 450 EXC with off-road gearing, riding gravel roads, will come onto reserve at 80 miles, consistently so far. You may be able to sweat-out 100 miles with reserve. I don't think 40 mpg for a fairly high-strung dirt bike is too bad. I usually have to work Killbuck or Danville into the ride somewhere - as much for my ass as for gas.

I agree.

Get there a bit early then take 78 east to 536 south toward Hannibal Ohio.

You will thank me later.

No time to go that far ... but there's plenty to choose from after eating in McConnellsville.

Thx!

Anyone interested in high speed gravel and some trail work, MikeF and I will be rolling out of Sunbury tomorrow on our trusty WRR's and working our way to Danville. Time is TBD, but at least after 10:30 before I can get rolling.

edit: 11am at the UDF in Sunbury, on Rt 3 near 36

Hell Matt, I need to relearn the tracks over there - have a full schedule of kids sports tomorrow, so I was out today. I'm mid-Delaware county too, maybe next time.

Coming back from South Ohio today, appeared to be a Blue KTM 990 (orange crash bars) two up heading South on 37 - just north of I-70. Anybody here?

Anytime. I have a decent route from Sunbury to Peggy Sues that I keep trying to fine tune, and I usually just wing it from there through the "Danville" roads.

concur on the suggestion of Boondocks BBQ

then take 60 south almost to Beverly where you can pick up 83 north which give you several option: to 284 then 146...or 83 to 146...or 83 to 313 to 146

or bypass 146 entirely and go north of I-70 for your route back to C'bus

have fun...wish I could join ya, but I got work at 2pm
