Leg 2 is over - Eric is now 11th!!

I know none of you care, but I don't know anyone else who would remotely understand or care so you'll just have to tolerate my random excitement for a few more days. Ends 8am on Friday in Pittsburgh.

I think those guys/gals are Nucking Futs! I only ride that long when time is short and need to get home to go back to work the next day! ;) I'm more into Dakar type rallies I guess now anyway. ;)

I finally got our ride video edited of the Grassman DS. It's uploading to youtube now. ;) I'll post a link to it when it gets done.
I just checked it out, at least I got a small cameo appearance at the beginning haha. Rehab is going well, started some light weight training last week. Looks like you have been having a successful year on the dual sport circuit.

Yeah, I've been doing a lot so far this year. I'll miss the Jake-Tom on the 14th though. I'll be at Dayton Dirt Riders that day. I'll also miss the Black Bear two day because I'll be out in Colorado then. Probably my next one will be the Buffaloe 500 in Columbus, Indiana in August. ;)

I was rather surprised that you rode into the river without having an exit strategy, as it were.
I was trying to find out from the waders where the road was, but they couldn't hear me over the sound of the water. At one point, I made kind of a zooming motion with my hand and one lady pointed up the bank behind a copse of trees. I figured that's where the exit was. If they weren't there, I would have parked the bike and waded across to reconnoiter.

My biggest concern was dropping the bike. At that depth, I would have been royally fucked. Getting water in the airbox and/or engine would have ended my trip right there.

I'm following... Kind of nice to see a name on the list to root for. I wish I know the AF Museum was on the bonus list. I would've had bottles of water or something for them

I think it's cool, thanks for the updates. I've done some seriously long days on my Connie, even strung a few together, but nothing quite as extreme as the IBR. Fun to keep track, and have a horse to root for!

Here's the tracks.

I went north on a spur (Deep South Loop) until I hit the TET proper around Rabun Gap, Georgia. From there I went up to Robbinsville, then took another spur over to Tellico Plains, and then back down into northern Georgia. After regaining the TET, I took that back into Rabun Gap to complete a counter-clockwise loop. I had about 800 miles for the 4-day weekend with about 500 of it on the TET or spur routes.

The trip report starts here: http://advrider.com/forums/showthrea...5#post21788845

That was a tough one - I knew they were leaving out of Pittsburgh early and I had a feeling they would be coming out on 70, but they didn't get the packet until that morning. I kind of wanted to get people to cheer lead out there, but no notice really. My mom was adorable - she was mad because she didn't know ahead of time - she wanted to have cookies for him.
Eric said he appreciated the thought and he guessed she could have delivered them via a biggie on a stick out the car window. There is no stopping!

I worked on the 990 some. added a 16t front sprocket (1 tooth smaller than factory) and kickstand 're-location' plate. Also needed an oil change, so I went all out, tore it apart, check both oil screens (both perfectly clean), and added a drain hose, so I don't have to tear it apart for an oil change again (till it's valve check time).

While I love riding this thing... there are no shortage of things to bitch about if one was so inclined. I just wrote out a big bitch, then decided I'm not so inclined.
Hey Mike, which drain hose kit did you buy? I've been looking at the one on CJD's site, but yours does not appear to be that one... I'm having a blast getting used to my new 990 as well (bought Wally's last 2011) but still working through the break-in period.
