Sissies ???

Well, the sissies are back. Yep,34 this morning with heated vest & grips. MMMM toasty.
570 smiles and 92 of it was through the state forest in Pa. Shawn made me go up a LONG rocky up hill that looked like it belonged at Tar Hollow. Pay backs a bitch. I learned what burning clutch smells like on a big GS. MMMM stinky.
Good food but no pics. and no banana cream pie.But all in all ,another great ride that everyone missed.

Meef-how was Peggy Sue`s? We missed you.

For those of you who are gun guys, here's a little story for ya. I carry a Taurus PT92, which gets a lot of scoffs from the true "gun guys" because, well, because it's a Taurus. I always liked it and it was supremely accurate and comfortable to shoot. 5000+ rounds through it, nary a failure, yadda yadda yadda. Plus I had the distinction of being the only cop outside a third world country that carried a Taurus as a duty weapon.... So two days ago I'm at the range doing some scenario shooting before my shift and one of the fucking locking lugs under the barrel snaps off, seizing the action and locking the gun in battery. Fuck. Glad it happened there and not while I was trying to kill some asshole...

I now have had a complete breakdown in trust of the Tauri line. The failure was typical of the military Berettas, the same style part on them fails at about 5,000 rounds, too; so it isn't really an indictment of Taurus but it still sucks and is confidence robbing. Sold my M-85 backup gun, waiting on the new part (covered by warranty) to arrive from Taurus so I can fix and sell my 92, and am now back to carrying my tried and true Glock 17.

I still need a backup ack-ack. Anyone have a mid-size Glock 19 they wanna sell?

Anyone have any thoughts on or experience with the Kel-Tec PF9? I've had good success with the P32 but the PF9 seems to get some bad press.

If anyone carries a Beretta / Taurus, I've got some custom and cheap duty / off duty / CCW stuff for sale:

Fixified per recommendation of your attorney.

I would stay away from the Kel-tec for any serious use. It won't last as long as your Taurus did.

Try the Springfield XD compact, any of the Kahrs (except the CW9), S&W M&P, Grock, etc. The only Taurus I've ever seen work well is the Millenium Pro models. The .45 ACP version is pretty sweet. (No, I don't have one.)

Tod.

Wow, that's wild Meef!!
I always thought those Kahr's looked pretty sweet, strong and thin.
Why not just get a G26 with a Pearce mag extension and be done. It'll hold your G17 mags too if it came to it (thus negating the need for a G19).

I owned a G27 for a while but really REALLY hated it, cause I couldn't get my hand to fit the damn little blocky grip. With the Pearce on there it was a better fit, but as long as my (then) G23 but without the extra bang power.

I like the interchangeable mags, though, it was the main reason I carried a G22 / 23 combo for the past few years, and the main reason I think I'll end up with a G19 to mate with my 17 now. I carried the 23 on my ankle, BTW, so I know the 19 will fit there nicely, and I might still have the ankle rig.

I do like the Kahr but I've owned one of those in the past (all steel) and it was crazy heavy for a secondary gun. I might look at the polymer framed ones... we shall see.

The G26 makes a nice BUG for ankle carry.....

I've heard good things about the Kahr .45.

If'n that was one of you guys riding West on 16 this AM around Frazeysburg, then
