Last day in East Anglia and a trip around the north Norfolk coast line, been nice and warm the past few days but today was overcast, windy and cold. A quick run north to start the day.
![]() Tractors, don't you just love them. All day to go nowhere and nothing to do when they get there. ![]() But no matter, this is our first stop. A very old sea port. ![]() Going to these other places later on today. ![]() We enter the town through the old gatehouse. ![]() Pause to look at the old book shop. Interesting local building material, Carstone, lots of it around this area. ![]() And around to the 16th century Customs house. ![]() Bacon decided it was time he got back into the show. ![]() We nipped around to the ancient Tuesday market place. ![]() Must have been on Tuesday then. ![]() Time to be moving on. Next on the list was the Queens residence at Sandringham. Hmmmm, she has locked the gates. Damn she must have been down the road at the market getting her fresh veg. ![]() But he found a friendly squirrel eating his lunch. ![]() Oh well, her loss at not meeting Bacon. Next port of call is Hunstanton, known as Sunny Hunny and a very popular sunday ride out meeting place. Almost deserted on this cold day but jam packed on weekends. ![]() Up to the noth end of town for Bacons first view of the cold north sea. And it was very cold. Tide was out showing the dangerous sand banks. ![]() To cold to stay here for long so we moved along the coast to Holm. Looks like a nice friendly place ! ![]() Not many people there today. We could see the remains of an old ship wreck in the sands. ![]() And a very deserted beach. ![]() We moved on to some of the small fishing villages along the way. ![]() ![]() Passed the old mill. ![]() ![]() Passed one of many pubs in the area named after our Lord Nelson, a son of this area. ![]() And along to an old round towered church. Not many of these left now. ![]() Nice view over the bone yard across the dunes to the sea. ![]() A quick stop of at Holkham to see the great Hall. ![]() Turn our heads to the sun that had started to break through and to show the fresh water lake right next to the sea. ![]() Admire the herd of Deer. ![]() Took a photo of the gate houses. ![]() And then shoot a couple of miles along to one of my favorite places. Wells-next-the-sea. The sun held for a short while and we got these fantastic views from by the coastguard station. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() We ran back down to the harbour for a photo as the cloud came sweeping back in. ![]() Continued around to Blakeney where you can take a boat out to see the Seals. But only when the tide is in, and it wasn't. ![]() Just before Sherringham we find the most strange of places. ![]() Still Bacon found it great fun. ![]() Into Sherringham and the sun has gone again and the cold creeps back. The coast from here into Cromer is blighted by these awfull summer caravan parks. ![]() But we find a nice view of Cromer Pier. ![]() We are both cold and hungry so decide to cut for home for warmth and some food. Been a good day out.

Todays the day for Bacon to be moving on. Tried to organise a relay to get him there, but it couldn't be done in time for his next adventure.
Bit stuck trying to decide how to send him. Then had a thought. Yup, its an adventure, so tie an address label on him, stick on a first class stamp, stuff him in the postbox and see what happens. Will he make it ok ???????? I hope so. Bye Bacon its been great, take care of yourself. ![]()

OK, Friday morning and it was a 0630hrs wake-up call for the pig.... "Oink-off!" he shouted to me....... charming!
On went the school tie and he went in to class. The children were thrilled to have such a seasoned traveller visit them. They had a day of patato printing, maths puzzles and poetry, and then a meeting with Pete The Duck, class mascot. ![]() ![]() Straight home at 1600hrs and into the Land Rover. The UK Advriders had a rally organised for the weekend at Graigfechan village, a medieval drover's trade route. The venue was the old Inn called The Three Pigeons. Bacon soon had his trotters under the table and was snout deep in a pint of guiness.... or two! ![]() And if it goes in, it must come out...... ![]() Bacon seemed to be getting on very well with the ladies, a very smooth operator I'm sure....... ![]() And I asked him for some tips....... ![]() Sarah Teach and Bacon headed off to the van for bed, the temperature was dropping severly, so I found them both snuggled up when I returned to the truck...... ![]() ![]() The next morning I pinned back his ears and he listened to the rider's briefing for the day's riding ahead....... ![]() His ride was a 2008 Yamaha XT250 Serow, with Sarah Teach at the controls..... ![]() ![]() ![]() The ride went well, with only one small off, but his hide was unscathed. At the end of the day, he celebrated with buying a round of drinks for the UK Advriders, and he settled in with the men....... ![]() ![]() So, we're home now and relaxing, I'm back in work tomorrow, so Bacon is going to a newsprint recycling plant to see how we turn waste paper in to newspaper. Sunday he will ride in the Wirral Egg Run with several thousand other bikes. Timpo.

Hope Bacon is having a good time over there, and not being led astray with too many guinness.
