Adrian at lewisportusa.com has info on montys, but no one is importing them to the u.s. right now. I've heard honda has no interest in the market here anymore due to low sales and high liability.

trialstrainingcenter.com has some used bikes from time to time and motosoup.com and http://setrialsriders.org/6/ubb.x have a few as well. I like my 02 smoker monty, but I've ridden the 4rt and it is really nice.

I would hold out for the Gas Gas 4-stroke if somebody really has a bug for a 4T. It's going to use a side-valve layout as opposed to OHV as there it's a slow-revving motor designed for torque. Lowers CG, simple to maintain, and far less moving parts than an OHV.

[quote=roadholder]As noted on the older posts here the new Montesa-Honda is actually based on a modern Honda MX engine design and marketed as a Honda in Japan....

and has nothing to do with the earlier generation (but still desireable!) air-cooled RTL's....

I loved those Honda fourstrokes too...and lusted over the rare RTL's way back. Have been away from trials for some time but am also very intruiged by the new Montesa!

Same here. There's more and more to chose from in that class however.
Do your homework...they are a great bike but you might find there's other new fourstrokes that suit you even better depending on your requirements.
