I agree.

I've had safety switches go bad on a KLR and a 1200GS. More of a pain in the arse than anything. So far, my Varadero hasn't suffered any such maladies. Good luck finding it. If you need the input of a service manual, let me know.

Thanks again, I just check the terminals, I wouldn't call them either tight, managed an easy half turn on both positive and ground ... looks like I'll need to pack some km's on this weekend to be sure

I finally found the time to take my new bike for a ride yesterday. The weather was great and I managed to get in over 300 km’s of riding for the day. This included about 20 km’s of Trailway riding which is now a dirt road that used to be the railroad system here in Newfoundland.

This picture was taken at the Long Point Lighthouse in Twillingate on the North-East coast of our island.

cold start

Finished adding all my accessories and it was time to test them out. Had a great ride a couple of weeks ago across BC via highway 6 twisties and onward via a couple of ferries to the Sunshine Coast. Pretty much the whole trip was aroung 4 or 5 degrees so it was a goodf test for the cold weather gear too. Had my tent and sleeping bag for a couple of nights camping and staying with friends.
I really enjoyed the trip and the bike on the first 3000 km on my new 2008 Varadero. I'll attempt to add a couple of photos.

Extras include:
  • SW Motech crash bars
  • Micatech side cases
  • Oxford heated grips
  • Madstad windshield brackets
  • Coo Case top case 45 l.
  • Eastern beaver fuse panel
  • three electrical outlets
  • Givi T 470 tank bag
  • ROK straps

Question BC in early May

Here's a photo of the 2008 Dero loaded for travel near Nakusp BC. . Forgot to mention the Barkbuster hand guards which seem very well designed.

I can't figure out how to add more than one photo, even with greatly reduced size.

Nice pics six mile. I especially like the first one. The way the weather goes in the Rockies, we could still have the same conditions in June.:)
