I know what you mean. My Varadero has been one of the most enjoyable bikes I have ever owned over almost a forty year riding period. For three years it's been traveling Canadian highways and back roads without a hiccup.

Very interesting. I've always heard good things about their screens. The mra vario is a big improvement for me over stock but still not perfect. Did you try any other screens before you settled on the calsci?

Are you going offroad on your Dero? Yes? Go for the TKC80 from Continental. No? Skip both K60 and TKC80 from your list.

The 'Standard' tyres on a Dero (f.e. Michelin Anakee II, Continental Trail Attack, Bridgestone Trailwing, etc) are good suitable for unpaved roads with hard surface or gravel (dirtroads).

When the going gets though, TKC should be your choice.
There is an wide tyre section / database on www.varadero-international.com with lots of riders' experiences.
