Lets get this thread going again.

Only ignition bits (dist. springs, points, cond., plug wires) to do yet. The original plan was to have the o.e. cylinders replated, but since I decided to sell my '75 Eldo project, the pair of 88mm Gilardoni kits (already turned to drop in the Eldo case) I had in stock went on Doug's engine. The con-rod journal of the crank needed to be turned due to deep scoring, the cam was worn more on some lobes than others so was replaced. Oil pump gears were scored/galled (replaced with one form the parted-out '70 Ambo), rocker shafts and rocker tips worn (replaced with Tonti rockers to work with the 88mm kits). Flywheel had excessive wear and was replaced, pressure plate was warped so replaced... On and on and on...

The left cylinder was fucked, but a friend of the marque in Australia sent me a good cylinder and matching piston. When I opened the box, he had included a tasty Australian canned beer inside the cylinder, inside a coozie from his local watering hole, all wrapped in bubble wrap. How cool is that!

The exhaust valve seats were corroded too, and I am hauling the heads over to the machine shop this am.

Progress, no pics right now. Holiday stuff, ya know?

Trans is in. Rear brake light switch is mounted. Centerstand and swingarm

are next along with brake/shift linkages. Then forks/wheels etc.

BTW, I think I need a different shift linkage to make the peg set up work.

The one I have seems to be proprietory for the "Triple A" foot boards. Got

one laying around?

You need the shaft from the pedal to the trans.? I don't have any for the five-speed only the four-speed. Maybe check with Mark @ Moto Guzzi Classics?
