dealer just called. They weren't able to recreate the problem, but the computer showed the iac motor sent faults 16 times. For reference.

Sounds like msrp, with the benefit of no doc or freight fees. Sounds about right, although bmw has been running rebate incentives intermittently for a few years ($500 or $1,000).

Good Luck.

Yeah I saw those deals 2 months ago, but I wonder if the price would be more than? Its kind of like the Dell deals, no matter how much they are giving off the most you will ever save is $50.

Anyway, I will mention the BMW promotions to him and see what he says. I wonder when BMW will be doing another promo??

Deal?

There was a $1000 program on 09's back in December. If the dealer was able to lock in the program, then subtract that from the MSRP. But you may lose a couple of months of warranty. Because they would have had to RDR the bike by December 28. So the Factory 36 month warranty would have that as a start date. By the way, there is no way to predict programs. They come when they come. Take advantage of them when they do.

It appears you are right.

Bummer. Never had a mileage limitation on a motorcycle before. Sure would've been an issue on the last 3 bikes. I'm almost certain to pass 36k in less than 3 years.

For most, 36k miles on their warranty is huge.

From my view that's an great duraion for a bike warranty. I remember lookin at the TL's when they came out, 30 days, unlimited mileage, see ya later. At the rate my beautiful BMW is going, it'll need all 36m/m.

As far as what you'll actually save with a $1,000 rebate...should be$1,000. I had this problem. Speak with the salesman, but first educate yourself. It's like loading a gun. I had two of three dealers try to F me w/the rebate excuse. None of their business. Know what you're doing and stick to your guns.

Question Bar risers

Does anyone have bar risers on their XCountry? If so, any cable mods? Any pics?

Cleaning up front brake line

Here’a good pic from inmate Somber showing how the front brake line is plumbed on the non-ABS bikes.

But on the ABS bikes like mine, it seems like the front brake line is just kinda sticking out there blowing in the wind and asking for trouble. Here, for example is Kicksave’s bike—

Anybody have a DIY solution for tidying up this hose?

See pic of Somber's bike in previous post. Those are TT risers he's got. But that's a non-ABS bike. On the ABS bike like yours and mine I think we have a different problem set than the other guys.

Thumb I see

Thanks Drone. It looks like the bike pictured has the fork tubes pulled down as well. If I leave mine in the stock position, I might be ok. That brake line alignment does look a lot cleaner.
