Are there kits for the late model up grades? And by late model, do you mean 60's, 70's, or 80's?

It's all bolt it. I removed the whole front crossmember and suspension as a unit and replaced it with one from an 84 Suburban. Of the 14 bolts holding the suspension to the frame, 12 of them line up using the later model suspension. All you have to do is drill 2 holes.

I reused all of the brake components off of an 80s era truck. Even the brake lines work without mods. Every single hole is in the frame already.

This get me disc brakes in the front and 5 lug wheel bolt pattern.

In the rear, I used a rearend from a 72 model truck. It's a bolt in for these old trucks and gets me 5 lug bolt pattern in the rear.

It's all powdercoated. I put it back together with fresh bearings and gears.

Actually it's a good number, and that truck is a daily driver. I just happened to stumble across this business in town that makes tires for vintage race cars...............they have a very cool shop, here is one of their shop trucks.
